Help fellow statters

Ok first I am really sorry. I know that people post stat question all the time and by now we should all be experts, but I am stuck on something that I have never come across as of yet.

Last weekend we had to "revert back" in two separate games. The runs for the half of the inning didn't count. As a stat person do I count everything that happened in that inning? I know that the answer is probably no, but I wanted to make sure as parents will asking about the hits or the put-outs that their DD received.

Thanks in advance and again sorry.:D

Hmmmm I'm ususally wrong, so here goes. It depends on what weight stats have on your team. To me, the items on the field actually happend, so good or bad they should be documented. Our stat guy keeps track of everything, even friendlies.........it's not like we are sending them to college scouts.

Yeah, there are no rules around what happens to stats in time shortened games that revert back because, as we all know, there is no such rule as a time shortened game. However, in a game that reverts back due a weather cancellation, the stats in the last inning would not count. Otherwise, your individual stats won't tie back to the team stats. With that being said, I agree somewhat with Catalyst and could easily be persuaded to count them on the grounds that they really should be included in measuring individual performance.

I think that you are right. It's not really about the win or loss, but how they performed in that half inning good or bad. I think I will include them unless another fellow OFCer gives a counter reason not to . Then I will start back from the beginning (not to know what to do. LOL). I only worry because my parents are using them for recruiting purposes so I want to be mindful of their futures.

Thanks.

I say count 'em. At the end of the day, stats are really only for the teams use. The at bats/plays occurred even if they didn't count in the final score for the tournament because of a crazy drop dead time limit.
