hey..can anyone recommend a good fundraiser? i'm looking for one that is quick and actually works. last season we sold mags and cookie dough. it was a pain in the neck and the players/parents hated doing it....probably because we didn't raise much either and it took more time than everyone thought. thanks for any ideas you can share.

Just ask the parents to donate a 100 bucks per couple and be done with it. :)

I agree--give the parents an opportunity to pay cash--for those who don't have the cash readily available then they should figure out a way to raise it. My long experience at this and watching very recently fundraising at Beavercreek was that 3 or 4 parents do most of the work (these were generally the ones who could have easily paid) and the other parents did not work anywhere as hard as them.
Every fund raiser it seems like the above is the way it happens.

Some orgs do the restaurant outing thing... invited friends, family and co-workers, etc... and the restaurant give back a percentage of the profits from said period of time for your fundraiser.

Eat good food, visit with friends and family and make new friends.. and raise money at the same time. A plus all around in my book ;)

The past 2 years we raffled 2 OSU football tickets (this year to MI). Minus the cost of tickets, profit over 3500.

There are plenty of fundraisers out there but most of them require a little time and work for some success..At least I havent found a "quick" with "little" work opportunity that actually works..

Superbowl board. $10 per square (100 squares), quarterly payout, you make $600 per board. Pays for 2 of 3 of either helmets, shoes, or bat bags. Sometimes covers them all. Each player to sell equal portion of squares.

We have a lot of luck with a good old beer bash. We have a local bar that charges us just for the beer we use (by the keg), we get pizza's donated for food, the parents bring chips etc and we have a few things to raffle off. We will get a TV, DVD etc, something big. This year we had Bills tickets, didn't do so well..lol But where we make out money is on the Chinese raffle at the beer bash. We sell tickets for the event for 15 - 20 each including pizza, beer, pop and wine.

Bingo Lester! You cannot beat superbowl squares for a quick, relatively easy fundraiser. I recommend you get started on it right away. If you need a format, PM me your email address, I have ours from the past few years...

I was speaking in general Lester, thanks for clarifying.

I do have/have sent a format to someone today who asked about it.

Some things we've done: Banner ads, Windsor Canada Casino bus trip, Paprikas Dinner, Candy bar sales, Comedy Club outing.

Poker tournaments are quick and fun way to make money, and you can do bowling banquet. At both of these you can have each parent make a basket to do a silent auction and you can do 50/50's. We have raised alot of money at both of these.:D

We are doing a Hog raffle again this year. We got a whole Hog donated by a farmer and a processor to give us a break on the processing. We offer 2 prizes of a 1/2 Hog and the winners can get the meat any way they want it. We sell the tickets for $10 and anything over the "minimum" goes toward the player fee. I have had kids cover their whole fee. If you want a ticket PM me or email me at blueaces14@gmail.com

Wheelbarrow of Cheer! last year I organized this for my DD's team and raised 1300 selling chances to win a wheelbarrow filled with booze/beer. Obviously the kids weren't asked to sell the chances. Each parent/family donated a bottle/item and sold tickets at 5 dollars for a chance or three chances for 10 bucks.
Organized it again for my DD's new organization this year and the numbers were even better. The beauty of it is if you get each family to donate a bottle its pure proffit for the team. :)
