Fastpitchfan11---not to drop names ? , but I witnessed several of the players on the Maumee rec and tournament summer teams knocking it out of the park (here's a few):

Sammy Robinson---their "iron horse" of a catcher
Jill Henry---tough infielder
Maddie Takacs---solid end baseman

And you're right, they have a very motivated head coach working with them.

Whitmer will be hard pressed to play 500 ball this yr.lost to much. replacing gorsuch,at ss and k at pitch, to big of shoes to fill

Erdman will be a capable High School pitcher and works very hard on her craft, but Gorsuch was as good a SS in our area since Trojan of NDA. The Bat, Glove and competitivness are going to be hard to replace.

I would say another upcoming SS that reminds me of Gorsuch is at SUA in Torrie Allen, a kid you will enjoy watching coachallen. She will be a top hitter in the TCL for the next 3 years. Hit leadoff for them last year as a Frosh, can really stroke it from the right side, and also very effective slapper from the left side.

Agree with the above---(dd played with Torrie on a Magic team a while back) she's a fast, scrappy fielder with a reliable stick. ?A great addition to any roster.

katiebenjoemom I kind of agree with Uber about Maumee and their hitting. As a team they do not hit well against good pitching. Maybe they will prove us wrong. The Whitmer thing Erdman should do well but has to come along way to rival K on the mound. This is a 500 team at best. SUA is definitely looking like the tema to beat in the CL. Clay, NDA, and Start should be right behind them. The NLL should be AW, then it is a toss up between PB, Springfield, and Southview. We will see who can fill the holes left by seniors better.

[highlight]HILLSDALE [/highlight]returns almost the entire team. I believe they only lost their 2nd baseman (Galligher) and starting pitcher(Chuck). They have Erin Ebert returning which I believe is a(Jr. ???) & new H.S. rookie (freshman) pitcher (Galligher) that should keep them atop the league and make ANOTHER run for a state championship.

They have many other quality players returning too. Hannah Faulk and Tawyna (sp??) (Garver) should have a HUGE year and lead the team with their bats. If I recall 3rd base and 2-3 outfielders were ALL freshmen, maybe 1 sophomore? They are young with alot of experienced players.

Hillsdale is always there and will probably be there again..........but watch out, there may be another team in this league that will start making some noise next year and then the next.........ya never know.

I will give North Canton, Jackson and Hudson all a very good shot at winning it this year . Very good players returning for all teams with comitted girls ! Alot of travelball players on these teams. Just my opinion.
