Hitting Mat vs Net

Tee placement is 4 1/2 feet from the net, with the Tee at 29 1/2 " high. That sets the correct angles.

here's some pic's of my setup. Pretty happy with it's ability to do the job. Added the rubber mat to help absorb the ball and it actually is a good visual and sound to a ball hit down the middle. I will be adding the "measured" off visual indicators that Howard has on his and Gerry shows in his pictures to help with the instructional indicators as they teach.

Straight view...

Side view to see the ball catcher and tie off's...

View of it put away...which is the best part. Out of the way and the kids can set it up in less than a minute and they even put it away. That's amazing in itself. My other net that spanned 16' wide retracted to the ceiling above the cars but only I could set it up and clean it up. What fun is that. :cap:

Very nice set up - thanks for sharing.

Why didn't you just run the line all the way across? Did you have to put that pole in or is that part of the garage?

You guys keep a clean garage, I'm going to have to tidy up a bit before I take any pics.

the pole is part of the garage... plus the net is only so wide. Coincidence it worked out that way.

Cleanliness... gotta have it. I would hate working on cleaning up every time someone comes over to hit so I just keep it that way.

Nice Les that will work. Good place to practice.

That pole looks to be holding up a beam. Never been to Les's house but that is probably holding up a second floor , if I had to guess.

Not to worry Les, if you dont like the pole just take a saw and cut it out of the way.

Les-
Man, I love the setup-
At first I thought that the Bear and Pheasant might be in line with an errant pop up, but looks like it would tag the garage door motor first.

Gerry

yeah, beam holds up the bedroom... and boy I'd love to cut it down!

BD, yeah, the Bear's head... I should put a picture of the big guy on it. Too funny. :lmao:

Here it is. $45 version of the zip net. Yes thats a sleeping bag. My wife wouldn't let me use any of her blankets. It works well without the sleeping bag but the balls will come out of the reservoir area occasionally from the impact if it's not there. I'll get a decent blanket to replace the sleeping bag and mark the lines in it.

It works great. The reservoir / trough area will hold about 40-50 balls. Then we just pick up the one end and pour them back into the basket. Thanks for posting the pic of the zip net for inspiration.
