I have seen some Home schoolers and they don't seem to mix well with public school students. Always standing by them selves, while the rest are mingling with each other. However, I will say the home schoolers seem to be very intelligent students but out of touch with what is expected of them when it comes to committing to a high school sport.
our youth group(of the last 1-7 years) has had at least 15-20 homeschooled kids attending every wednsday night &the rest of the 40 kids were public schooled from at least 4-5 area schools.as a youth leader & mother of 3 of the homeschooled-(2 of whom have always played softball & 1-baseball), I can honestly say the ones who had difficulty in mingling were not the homeschooled, but the ones who were from rival schools -none of the 20 homeschooled ever had difficulty in team sports, they all played a variety of sports & loved their teams-p.s.-they have more free time to practice & are more rested for games because most don't get up as early as their public schooled -counterparts. from my experience they are just as commited as the public schooled. ;)

I don't think being homeschooled has anything to do with being less committed to a sport. That just varies from kid to kid, not matter where they get their schoolin'!

Big Daddy-as long as you don't teach spelling and grammar, I think you'll be ok!
