Horrible Base Running

Sitting here watching Oregon and Auburn make base running mistake after mistake. Girl just left early negating an Oregon HR. Right before that Auburn had one picked off 2nd because she was standing around watching her teammate score. Earlier in the game Auburn had a girl picked off when she had to go back to 3rd to tag on a fly and then tried to go home. Auburn also had a girl picked off for rounding third too far.

Started on ESPN2, but finished up on ESPN. GT and Jacksonville St. coming on in just a few minutes.

ESPN.....Bear we are watching same thing...saw a 12 u game this evening in rec ball that show better heads up base running than what we saw from the all mighty Ducks, lol...

IMO, the critical error was by Auburn's coach not communicating to her runner rounding third - would have had the bases loaded. Probably cost them the game. You can't win a college championship with that sloppy of base running!

Had to correct my first post as I reviewed the game - both teams made too many mistakes to be playing in an NCAA Regional.

auburn decision not to bunt with the tying run on 3rd and 1 out was puzzling. MD

And Jacksonville keeps the trend alive by going too far on a long fly out to CF and getting picked off.

And my wife called me upstairs to see the game, not to point out the horrible base running, base coaching, or missed bunt opportunities, but to point out that Oregon's uniforms look absolutely dreadful! Go figure

There is a huge discrepency in the level of play between the top tier teams and all the others. Most games look like friday pool play games at a big summer tourney.

If you're watching GA Tech and Jacksonville, GA's relief pitcher just demonstrated some amazing pitching to get them out of the inning.
