This thread started with the question of moving districts to be on a high caliber HS team, not comparing HS to travel, or having anything to do with recruiting. Certainly with open enrollment and even without, there have been players switch schools to play on a more competitive team. It happens, they question was would you?

Actualy the recruting was implied by the OP - The reason boys move from a bad football school to a good football school is to be seen by college recruters.

I disagree that recruiting was implied. OP simply stated moving to a district with a winning program. I also think it is more realistic to say that boys move from bad football districts to good districts to win, not just to be seen by college coaches. I know of a player who did just that. Open enrolled to play with a winning program in the same league. Wanted to go back to his own district as they got better. Coach and AD from the open enrollment district basically said they would push hard for him to sit out the max if he went back.

You may be right only the Demon knows what he was thinking at the time...
But none the less -
I doubt many people would move for a better softball program since there are alternatives to school ball if you want to play at a higher level than your district provides. Whereas football school ball is the pinnacle.

I agree, you can win in softball outside of school, there is no other option for football. Whereas it is rampant in football, it is probably so to a much lessor degree in softball.
