many upper teams don't have too much to do at tryouts other than confirm the phone calls and players that approached them. Some org's have zero or very little to do with tryouts. So, surprisingly, their numbers assumptions might be off from what some may think.

Thank you, u just proved my point for me. You posted "one team from the lasers" incredible success that all teams and organizations in ohio should be proud of and should use as motivation to show that a team from ohio can be one of the best in the nation, but i notice that u only posted 1 teams success?
Lasers Red finished 13th, so 2 teams in the top 20 of a national event...were there some other Ohio organizations that had that kind of success? If so I am unaware and am in desperate need of enlightenment and I'm being serious, not sarcastic. I am honestly unaware of an Ohio team that has had more consistent success over the length of time the Lasers have. My older daughters strived to play for the Lasers but were never talented enough to make a team (they both are scholarship athletes in college presently) - so I am not an advocate for the Lasers, but for the past 15 years of playing travel ball they have been considered the top org in the state by everyone with whom I interacted.

To answer the question, the number of players that show is different for each location each year, the first one I took my kids to in wellington about 7 years ago seemed like there was 150 kids there, this year there was about 30-40. The Columbus tryout always has more kids because some are asked back for another look and it is on a Sunday.

Are you asking about this year or the total over the past 15 years? and at what age division or any? Seems like more questions with in a question....

We went to all the tryouts and only seen maybe 30 kids. There was more than that at one tryout for the older girls.

Things that make you go HMMMM. Lasers had so many at tryouts, yet they still have teams posting looking for players.

It's clearly because only 10 total kids showed up at every tryout, they took every single one of them, and the coach wants to carry 11. What else could it be?

I'll start with a disclaimer. "My DD does not play for the Lasers, nor has she ever tried out for the Lasers." She plays for one of the "other" top orgs... I don't understand why people get so touchy about an organization having tremendous success. I will also agree with the statement that the best team for one player is not the best team for all players. With that said, I don't believe there is an Ohio organization that has the repeated success the Lasers do year after year over a lengthy amount of time. That is if you consider strength of schedule, and wins/losses of the entire organization as success. The DD's team had the privilege of playing Lasers Blue a few times this year. Simply put, that team is special. By the way, Lasers Red finished 13th, at ASA/USA, Not too shabby.

It's because people hate success heck I hate the Yankees, but they are still great organization. Have never had any play for the lasers, but they are one of the premiere on field organizations in the Midwest. Based on major tournament wins, kids going onto college to play at all levels as well. I cannot speak to their coaching philosophies or how they treat kids/ families, but that is in all organizations at all levels that you all do your homework on.

Westler33 I was in no way speaking to you. Mr.Demon I am a fan of the game and all the great things about it and all the great things it has taught my dd. I also enjoy watching softball being played at the highest levels. I also am a fan of watching the best teams square of on Sundays , the lasers included, as I have stated before they are one of the best programs in the state of ohio. I get on this form for information and feedback and ideas. I don't however get on here everyday or even every week. There is much more to life than my 13 year old's softball team. That being said, if you are going to post, try posting something of value and without the lasers name in it. Again we all get it, it's the lasers world and we are all just liveing in it.

Your right, I shouldn't assume he is with the lasers. I figured as much as he talked about them he had a horse in the race. Now my biggest fear is he is not part of the program or his dd doesn't play for them and if that's the case then that would be scary. I mean borderline stalking, " picturing the guy from blades of glory". " I love you jimmy". Just change the jimmy yo lasers. So let's hope he is part of the program somehow.

You must have taken a beating from the lasers this summer to be that butt hurt. Anyways, I filmed chipper jones at a ball game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAwV31YdU2k
