Howard Kobata -vs- Whatever Else

At the Kobata clinic I attended a few years ago I liked what I saw. I also know he is quite popular here. I'm considering buying his 3 DVD set. Before I do that I'd like to dive into other "schools of thought" so I don't have buyer's remorse 10 minutes after I click the button. Any others that you would suggest I look at before plunking down the cash?

Worth it to go at least once when he is in town. And the DVD's are pretty useful. I don't think you'd regret picking up the set.

Contact Bob Hoiles if you want to expose your team to it as a good local option. Bob is very well-versed in Kobata's drills and techniques, and does a great job with presenting it.

It's worth it. I've got both his 1st videos and his latest. I've been to his clinics 3 times when our organization brought him in. Even went to dinner with him lol, he's fun to watch coach.

Kobata is the real deal. I coach these techniques and it helped my DD immensely. I have seen it turn outfielders into infielders by quickening their plays substantially. This is fastpitch softball not baseball and we should teach it as such, Howard does that.

I cringe every time I see a 3rd baseman with her "glove in the dirt" ready position, good luck coming up for a line drive shot to your head.

Buy the set. Even if you just teach his basic fundamentals you will see an improvement if the kid and parents buy into the techniques.

Alright the button was clicked, when do the scholarship offers show up? Are they included with the DVD or is that a different shipment?

I think we could make 4 videos:
1. For Dads
2. For Moms
3. See Godzilla movies, where voice doesn't match lip. (Comedy purpose).
4. Starting Tim for Lemmings (rated).

Disclaimer: I've never met Tim and don't know what he looks like.

I've never met him either, but Howard C. tells me his mother used to sit him in a corner and feed him with a slingshot.

When he would help at clinics with Crystl and I, everyone thought he was Larry The Cable Guys Brother. We even had a autograph table set up for him at the Westerville clinic.

As to Howard K. I just got his new three CD set. We have always used throwing as an intro for hitting as to the flex of the front knee. With Howard K. we are leading with the left foot now to field or catch and start with the glove at the hip. The hips driving forward is the lead in to hitting in my opinion and we have had success using it.

We roll the ball to them and they have a target to throw to and we also do front toss to the player so they can field on a run and throw to the target using the same footwork.

That is about as far as I go with it as I like the foot work, momentum and hips driving forward and use that feeling for teaching hitting.
