There will be an NSA National Qualifier in Wilmington, Ohio at J.W.Denver Williams Park ?located at 1100 Rombach Ave for all the Mapquest people.

This is open to all divisions and the tournament is set up for a single day event on Sunday only.

Entry Fee and Prizes based on the amount of teams. ?See the posts behind this one for more details.

Deadline is Thursday, 12:00 Noon on November 8th.

In the 4 & 5 team formats there is no "pool" and "bracket" play? Winner is determined by record of scheduled games?

Round robins is where everyone plays everyone. The best record, head to head, runs allowed and other factors are used to determine the winner. Sort of like pool play.

Here come them Miami Valley Vipers asking around... lol ... Gannon wants to play too, Jim. ?Going to e-mail the Louisville team and The Shockwave and get an early heads up. ?Also, if you know any 12u or 10u teams, some just jumped in to get those divisions up and going.

The Asst State Director for NSA, Lisa Simpson, is going to be in attendance at the tournament so she can get a read on the City of Wilmington Parks and how nice the fields are there and hopefully I will have enough time to show her the other parks in the County to put in for the 2009 NSA State request.

I have 24 ball fields available for the tournament.

Was at the Park this morning, as it will be the same type of morning on Saturday, and it would be nice to start at 11:30 or Noon due to the dampness. ?So this is a heads up on the start date. ?Just matters the amount of teams yet.

It you stick to the 5 team format it will be dark well before the games are finished. Just a thought.

Every diamond has lights in the Park. Should be warmer at 5:30 p.m. then 10 am. Especially Saturday morning. Hope to hear from everybody else today, tonight, or in the morning. Will decide by Noon on Thursday. You know me Jim, I'll go with whatever I got...lol.... I don't cancel anything based on the amount of teams...lol......

Phoenix 14U would love to be there this weekend but we are starting our indoor games this Saturday. Hope all goes well and good luck to all the teams.

Anyone that is still on the fence about going should go!!!! It is a nice park, in a good location. Tim is working hard to get things rolling for the girls. We appreciate your hard work Tim.

Going to go on Sunday for all teams interested and look at the changed entry fees. Bare minimum. Even cut the umpire costs down.

Checked to see if I had any takers and there seems not to be enough to be able to have a tournament. ?Thanks to the teams for wanting to try. ?Actually, the past two weekends have been nice enough to play if there were teams out there that were available.

We shall see all of you in the Spring. ?Getting the schedule down for the tournaments next year and I do know that the last weekend of March, 2008 we are having a 10u, 12u and 14u tournament in Wilmington. ?Rain date the first weekend of April.

For the teams that came to Wilmington for our experiment tournaments to see what the teams thought of the Park, I thank you for your appearences at our Park. It has given the mayor new insight in placing more money into the Park. ?I couldn't have done it without your imput. And he got re-elected this election. Hopefully, this will be a good thing... lol.. ?

Today, I volunteered at the Park and we got a lot done on two of the fields. ?We are preparing the fields with top soil to fill in and then we are expecting loads of dirt, called "Beavercreek Mix", and have found a volunteer contractor to bulldozer it and level it for the winter months. ?In the Spring we will be putting the red brick dust on for top dressing.

We will be having a few tournaments in Wilmington, some with concepts never heard of before in the tournament play. ?Stay tuned. ?Next year will be exciting . ?I guarentee you that.
