Pitching and Pitchers Discussion I'm not in the business of coaching pitching anymore

Coach_MikeH here, new name. Old one got buggered up somehow and I can't get into it.

SO! I've been using a pitching coach that I was happy with but her weekday schedule prohibited anything but the weekend group session. Since her schedule got busy I was helping my daughter. I successfully ruined her. I've never wanted to instruct fastpitch pitching (I do pitching on the boys side) but whom else to help her? Well it turns out that ANYBODY would have done just fine, just not me.

I called up and was able to get her in a session with Jodi Eickemeyer down at Let's Play Ball and went to the first lesson. I'm please with what I saw. I don't expect any quick fixes but I can see that my daughter will trend in the right direction and she will have an opportunity to be successful going forward.

LOL, awesome post...that made me laugh. Coach Eickemeyer will get her straightend out. We might need a new softball reality show...like Holmes on Homes...the pitching addition :lmao:

I spoke to Jodi and told her what I had done. She had a knowing look on her face.

Last summer was my dd's first one with spending any time in the circle. I had long before realized that there are many qualified pitching instructors. I, however, am not one of them. So we made sure we had an excellent pitching coach for our dd.

Since the coach only saw the dd once every week or two during the season, I decided I'd better run everything past our dd's pitching coach before saying anything to our dd about her pitching mechanics, or making adjustments.

I am sure that if our pitching coach was any less patient, she would have started charging us double the fee, just to keep me reined in and under control so I didn't ruin her student. I'm sure it got to pretty hilarious for her to listen to me. Thankfully, due to my dd's hard work over the winter and her coach, she's really starting to put things together on the mound, and I am extremely grateful I kept my mouth shut, or at least talking to our coach first.
