I will add my 2 cents here...Mt. Gilead has a young lady coming in as a freshmen that has skill and pure ability to play what ever sport she wants. She just made Varisty Volleyball team. And I have NO doubt that she will be not only a starter on Varisty Softball, but will be an impact player for them.

Thing of it is... she has not played softball for 3 or 4 years. Played as an 8th grader this past spring for my club team, first time ever as a catcher Had 15 pick off's at 2nd and 11 at 3rd.. Played for Marion Diamonds 14 U this past summer... At try outs in Early August for 2010 season... covered home to first from right side in 3.0... home to home in 11.7... NO KIDDING... I had the clock in my hand.

You will know her when you see her. And she is not my DD. (thats next year 2010-2011)

my 2 cents.

Mt. Gilead isn't that where Kaylor Arnold goes? Have a hard time believing anyone will move her from the catchers position for the next several years.

Wouldnt it be safe to say, that outside of a stud pitcher, if a team is going to be relying on incoming freshman, the likely hood of success is minimal for the team.
In the smaller schools they may have a bigger impact, but in D1 or D2, I dont see them being that big of a factor.

I have to disagree with that one. Watching Elyria in the LLWS, the commentator said that 3 of the girls started on Elyria's DI State championship team as freshmen last spring. Today's freshmen who play highly competitive travel ball before high school are more than ready to go.

Fairborn has 2 or 3 coming up this season, should be interesting to see. Kayla Moore and Jennifer Neal..... some pretty good speed that should help the offense

Freshman that have played high level travel schedules will be more than ready for high school ball.

Logan Elm has a freshmen coming in that is amazing Taylor Saxton. She runs home to home 11.0 to 11.4 as a 13 unbelievable skills things you just cant teach. " She is a scratch golfer" she will be playing for stingrays this yr. her biggest down fall is getting her to pratice, could be d-1 easy if she dedicated herself to softball, but because she is such a good athelete she may start varsity in bball, and softball is the best golfer on varsity, and coming from a small school everyone want's a piece of her. Go Braves

Go Mt Gilead . Need as much tallent as we can get . The 5 player that went on to college will be hard to replace . Hope there is alot of competition to get on the field . Arnold is a beast any where you put her .

#16 for Cincy Doom 95 is sure to be an impact player as a freshman for the Lebanon Lady Warriors.

A player I was especially impressed with this summer who will be a Freshman this year is pitcher Kaitlin Minney. She pitched for Ice Silver. Has very good mechanics and the tall long build to become a very special player. She is in Keystone district.

Yep... your right, Caylor is a beast... no matter where she plays!!! And strike three you too are correct about the pay to play being dropped I believe will bring back some of the lost talent... As the same goes for the incoming Frosh no matter if she is behind the plate, or right field, or bat girl... she too will be a beast. With the two of them... plus the young ladies that have had Varsity time over the past year or two.. they will be stong, I have no doubt. As far as the incoming Frosh being # 1 behind the plate... I have no clue about that, that will be up to Coach Ruhl and his staff... I just know that the next two years of Freshmen will be impact players at the Varisty Level...
