I will only add that people want to know why some your kids don't get scouted by West Coast, Pac 10 or for the fact Big 10 etc?
Look at what is being taught in the Midwest, as to pitching, defense, hitting and ask yourself if what is being taught is adequate for your child to take it to the next level?
When you play at Sparkler or OKC or at the higher levels, is your daughter as good as the pitcher you faced, is she as fast, does she run the bases as well, is she as good a hitter?
Look at the techniques not the person necessarily that they are teaching and ask yourself if that will get your daughter to the next level.
Kabota offers a lot and yet is looked down upon by others for instance, so if you had a choice to see them or work one on one with them would it be worth it?
How would you know what would work better if you did not know the difference in what you are currently thinking is the best technique being taught now?
I agree just because someone is a coach was a coach etc does not mean they are using the same techniques that a Doug Gillis or Bill Hilhouse teach currently.
Many of the girls I coach have been to about everyone named and those that opened their minds and tried going to a Gillis or Hillhouse visit were surprised by what they learned in one session and again I wonder why some of these people have not wanted to learn or teach the methods they teach after seeing the results and the improvements obtained.
It must be in the water in the Midwest that holds us back...I see the same thing when I see clinics that teach swinging down or level on the ball and hitting off 2 x 4's and wonder why they can not see the difference in the high level of success that colleges outside of the Midwest have that do not teach those techniques...please do not take it for more than what it is...just an opinion by keeping your mind open and reviewing what they have to offer versus what you have been told...you will be out a little money or you might question what you are being told and be careful you might learn the difference and knowledge is power.
