Being older and getting to watch a lot of the players back in the old days, Jenna is on my top 3 best players to ever come out of Ohio if not the best when she is done with her career at Oregon. Hard work pays off.

True freshman and starting @ 3rd base for the #2 team in the country......oh and hitting .526 in the 3rd spot. That's extremely impressive.

Jenna is a beast. Best player I have seen play. There are a lot of great ones but she stands above them all in my opinion. Keep up the great work kid.

Other Ohio raised player like Jenna Lilley that made an impact?

She is definitely a great player. Has any Ohio raised player ever went out West and immediately made an impact? Or SEC / Big12 for that matter?

Tess Sito did at Georgia after transferring from CSU as a hitter both of her two years there, and as a pitcher her first year.

Erin Gabriel pitches for Tennessee.

Duncan at Louisville is at that level. Curious to see how McCombs does there too. Also look forward to Alvelo at Washington in 2016.

I just checked: McCombs is 2-0 in 2 starts in the circle and Duncan continues to kill the ball for the 2-2 Cards.

Jenna is doing amazing- I got to see video of her at bats and of her homerun- that kid is an explosive hitter! I honestly cannot recall another player from Ohio who has played in the PAC12

There have been several girls from Ohio that have played in the SEC. Another poster mentioned Gabriel at Tenn. but we also had Kara Dill who played short stop at Kentucky (I believe Kara set a UK program record her freshman year for hits) Kara is now on the softball staff at LSU.

Annie Rowlands had a heck of a career @ UK. She's not mentioned much in the "Best Of" category but anyone who can start all 4 years in the SEC is an elite ball player.

Cammi Prantl earned second team All-B1G as a freshman. Has any other player from Ohio earned similar honors (all-conf team - 1st, 2nd or frosh) as a freshman in a power conference (ACC, B1G, Big XII, PAC, SEC)?

Thank you everyone. We are very proud of Jenna and her accomplishments so far.

My sister, Kris McCleary, now Kris Ganeff, was all conference all 4 years at Notre Dame from 1996-99 they were in the Big East then, now the ACC. She was a catcher and went to high school at Westerville North which is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. She is now the Associate Head Coach for Notre Dame who is ranked 19th and last weekend beat #6 UCLA.

Ohio kids making us all proud. Great to watch them all climb to the top.

Katie Browne has started every game at catcher as a freshman and sophomore for the SEC Georgia Bulldogs. She is originally from Ohio playing for the Lasers Orange thru 14U before moving to Louisiana. Interesting side note...her uncle is LSU head coach Les Miles.

I wonder if she has adapted the family tradition of eating grass from the field before every game?

Wow. My Dd team (Fairless) played North Canton back when Jenna was a junior. Got to watcher hit the dog snot out if the ball. No homeruns by good Lord the line drives were coming off her bat with nothing but total "viciousness".... That's the best word I can think of. That girl can flat hit. Just flat hit........ Way to make Ohio proud!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think ive ever seen a hitter get intentionally walked as much as her at State. It was quite Bonds-ish

Didn't I see She was chosen to play with the Jr. USA team ?

my daughter attended the Ondeck Jamboree in Chicago in July as a pitcher/UT. All pitchers were asked to pitch live and as they did this, one of the members from Ondeck took notes/kept track of their pitching stats. There was even a certified ump behind the plate to call balls/strikes.

They paired each pitcher up with a catcher and then the two would face a rotation of 2 hitters at the plate. The pitcher would pitch a total of 10 at bats to these two hitters- 5 per hitter. Both of the hitters that were assisting Ondeck were Bandit girls that recently graduated.

As my daughter took the mound, she looked over and noticed that Jenna Lilley was assigned to be her hitter. Now my daughter had faced Jenna earlier (Jenna was a senior at NCH and my daughter a freshman at Keystone), so she knew the power that Jenna brought to the plate. As soon as my daughter noticed it was Jenna, she pulled her catcher aside and proceeded to tell her what pitches to call (nothing near the zone and to only call riseballs inside, off speed and drop curves.

At the end of day, my daughter told me what had transpired

....and she was able to get that kind of respect without the cream and the clear, unlike Bonds.
