ASA Tournament John Wells Memorial "Super Six" ASA "A" Eastern National Qualifier - June, 2011

The Road Runner Softball Program will be hosting the Twelfth Annual John Wells Memorial Softball Tournament on June 3, 4 & 5 in Zanesville, Ohio. This tournament , which has a six game guarantee (weather permitting), will be an ASA "A" Eastern National Qualifier for 2011. There will be 4 Pool Games and then Double Elimination. Games will be played at Riverside Park & Perry Softball Complex. We will have 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U Divisions.

The cost for the tournament is $475 with a six game guarantee (weather permitting).

Boy Last year was something Huh ? Those were some pretty wild storms that blew up.. The only good thing that came out of our Friday night cancellation was a trip to Pizza Cottage in Buckeye Lake on our way home.....

Lots of rain last year on Friday. Lots of rain last year on Saturday. Then that was followed by lots of rain in Columbus the following weekend and lots of rain in Delaware later in the summer.

Xtreme '95 Fastpitch(Pickerington) will join the field of 16's

We will be happy to have the 16U Xtreme 95 Fastpitch team join us in Zanesville on
June 3-5.

We are pleased that the 14U Extreme Power from Rayland, Ohio will be attending the JWM.

Registration for the JWM is moving along very nicely. As of March 15 the 18U has 3 spots left; 16U is FULL; 14U is FULL; the 12U is FULL; and the 10U has 2 spots left. In 18U the Maddogs had to drop out because of high school graduation parties. [They have been removed from the Teams Entered list.] That opened an extra spot in the 18u Division. If your 18U or d190U team is interested in the John Wells Memorial they will need to act fairly quickly as the remaining spots should fill fairly quickly.

We are pleased to add the MOV Flamin' Fury 12U team to our tournament.

The 14U Division looks to be the largest and most competitive of the age groups. This one shoud be lots of fun.

Xtreme Fastpitch has been added to the 16U Division.

I am back from the Rebel Games in Florida. [Watching softball is certainly a great way to spend a vacation.] I should now be able to do a better job of keeping things up to date concerning the JWM.

Registration for the John Wells Memorial will close on April 1. If you are an 18U team or a 10U team that is interested in entering you will need to do that very soon.

The only remaining opening in the John Wells Memorial is for a 10U team. Registration for that will close on April 1.

Due to the Venom Purple 14u team withdrawing from our tournament [notified me on 4-19] we have one opening in that age Division for our tournament. If you are interested in that 14U spot contact Coach Rick Sherman. We now have 13 teams and want to get back to having 14 teams in that Division.

The schedule for the JWM is being finalized at this time (May 3). Coaches should have the Official version in a couple of days.
