jr high ball and metal cleats

They tell me we play high school rules so are metal cleats allowed at jr high level? we have played 15 games or so and nobody has said anything until Friday night and the other team had questioned it and the umpire checked his rule book and couldn't find anything on it.

Metal spikes are legal in Middle & High school games. These games are governed by NFHS. Changes for the spikes come in tournaments or leagues that do not allow the spikes below a certain age.

The only middle school rule that is different than the high school rules is the 40 foot pitching distance.
