My DD and I was watching the WS last night. ESPN kept showing the age group 10-13...Seemed many of the girls were 12-13. I'm curious , with all the talent in Ohio and WPA has there been a Little League team get far or make it ? I know a couple years ago a team from western PA made and won the Junior League ... but I cant recall anything about Little league ?

Poland made it to the Junior League World Series this year in Kirkland Washington. Boardman made it there 6-7 years ago.

Poland made it to the Little League World Series in 2010. It was the girls in the high school class that just graduated and the year before.

I know Canfield had a group go very far a few years ago. I believe most of those girls will be seniors this year.

This year our team played the previous night's (Tuesday) team...Central Region, represented by the team North of us. In Central Regionals in Indy, if that team would have played that poorly against us, they made errors Monday, we would have won regionals. We almost beat them once, but a throwing error allowed two runs to score and we lost 4-2. We played them a second time and we had fielding errors, lost 4-2 again.

Tallmadge Little League made it to the LLWS semi's or the finals in 2014, I know they were on TV. I'm not sure about next year, this year was the disappointment of a lifetime. They treated the girls so unbelievably well in regionals, it was so special.

I know at the LLWS, if you noticed in the game last night all the player's helmets were new and given to the players to keep. Same with those bats, the catcher's equipment, and the uniforms. Plus, LL pays to fly the team and pay for the hotel stay. There are other neat things too, it's just like nothing else. They provide all the water and gatorade during games in the dugouts. I really liked how they even showed the players in the dugouts, so nice.

On a side note, could someone call out their "armature status" for receiving such gifts?

20/20 That's a valid point. Could it be similar to the Olympic teams? I doubt any of those athletes bought their own uniforms or paid for flights? I think LL is giving the players uniforms, catcher's equipment, bats and helmets to use to look nice on tv, then they just let them keep them. It would be confusing to see kids playing with Ohio shirts if they were considered Central Region. Those Easton bats did seem to shine on TV.

The flights and hotels...not sure? But, that's a ton of people, 9 teams multiplied by 14-16 people/team.

I was at the LLBBWS in Williamsport, PA, it was obvious Honda sponsored a lot. Their cars and signs were everywhere. They didn't charge admission to the games either.

Here's a little video from Lamade field about LLBB Great Lakes Regional championship: http://www.llbws.org/media/news/An-...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Correct Canfield finished 3rd they are seniors this year. The 12u baseball team was eliminated at regionals by the Chicago team that cheated couple years back.
