This should be an excellent softball conference. Always strong in the past , this year should be no different.
Would like to hear some people from the conference chime in on thoughts and predictions . Lets Have fun and be nice.
Lots of good talent coming in w/ kids trying to make some very talented rosters.
Bloom Carroll looks to top out this division and get back to the top where they should make a deep run at division 3 playoffs . Have some pitcher named Alvelo ? Hear she is pretty good .... along with a good amount of travel players.
Logan Elm has lots of talent with a couple of kids coming up trying to make a tough lineup that had a great run to the districts finals.Speed at the top with Taylor Saxton , and good lineup with big bats will make this a tough team to beat. Pitching is way above average.
Circleville will start right in the middle of the circle with Tara Williams, she has the ability to control the game with any of the best pitchers out there when she is on . Solid line up thoughout with several girls playing travel ball and a couple of girls coming up from 8th grade who will be impact players.
Teays Valley should be Solid. Veteran Pitching from Kristen Gill, and Senior leader Cammi Prantl. Could make some noise if defense is solid. Have some kids coming up who will try and make a lineup which lost some offense last year .Defense will be key to this team which made a great run at the end of last year .
Canal Winchester alot like Teays Valley have a solid team with lots of travel ball players allready on team , and many coming up . Not sure if youth will pave the way for this squad because I am not sure about the upperclass pitching .
Fairfield Union I believe lost a really good pitcher from last years squad but replace it with Stingrays pitcher I believe. I could be wrong. though. Have at least two kids from the eighth grade who could flat out hit and look for them to be impact players , pitcher was pretty good as well.
Amanda Clearcreek always gritty and tough and in the past have always had that shock factor . Kids are strong and usually put the ball in play . Not sure about the pitching .
Hamilton Township I know they have had some kids really trying to do some things in the offseason, just dont have the experience of alot of the teams in Division but should be better than in past years.
I could be way off on some teams but should be a great leauge with lots of good games .

Logan Elm Is looking very strong in all positions, Lots of speed and power in the line up. Girls have a lot of experience from the Seniors down to the Freshmen. I expect them to be in every game they play and Win most..... Can't wait to see what all the other Mid State League Teams look like this year. Their is a lot of Talent in this League. Good Luck to all........

The single most important word in the Buckeye this season is experience. Many teams have seasoned and experienced travel players but will that translate to school ball. Same game, different animal. The top 3 finishers from last season lost good players but many underclassmen have the tools to make noise and the next 3 had youth get major varsity time. It's going to be interesting and fun to watch.

Well, someone still has to catch those pitches.;)

If last year's catcher is fit, then that will be an awesome battery.

If not.....

Teays should find out what kinks need to be work out early on with scrimmages against Grove City, Central Crossing & Gahanna before hitting the road to Jonathon Alder for first regular season game.

Teays at Johnathan Alder both scrimmages . Should be a chance to try and see where our strengths are at and weaknesses.

Three scrimmages under Teays Valleys belts , and results are not looking to good . Have implemented a new arm band device to help with signals , truly believe the coaches hearts are in the right place , because they have obviously put alot of thought into this . I am going to leave my thoughts out on this as it is yet still too early to determine wether or not its a good bad thing , but for now seems to disrupt batters thoughts and rythym , with time who knows maybe will work, or not . As a whole our youth is kinda showing , nerves , ect... , Definately believe we will have to score runs to win ball games and as of now we are not doing this , but each games seems to be a little better . Pitching has not been up to par for Teays standards , but I do believe it will get better as we go along ...lots of talent, girls need to start believing they can win in order to be succesful . No scrimmage wins , but they are just that , scrimmages.

Ok.. We are a couple of weeks into the season now... What are some thoughts about how things are going... Are there any surprises.. Any disappointments ? Any different expectations ?? What say Ye ?

I think many teams are living up to expectations so far.. Here is a suprise though.. Looking at DIII schools in the central district there are only 19 this year.. That is down from 23-26 in the last few years??? DII is now full of some of these high powered teams and looks a lot like what DIII Central district looked like 3 years ago.. That is a pretty interesting change, I think
