Bear is right!!! Greenville Jr high is a club team that has alot of travel ball players that do both because the Jr high does not have the money to provide the buses and other things needed. So parents drive the kids to the game and coach the teams....

forgetaboutit you are mostly correct about why Greenville has club JH teams as opposed to school sanctioned. It is somewhat a money issue but even if the school were to support the program it simply makes way more sense to run it as a club team.

First of all you can play more games, second of all no silly restrictions to worry about, and third it will be run much better. The days of school supported JR High teams providing buses for softball players to travel is quickly coming to an end.

I have another question. A girl plays on sanctioned MS team. Can she open enroll at a different HS without losing her eligibility?

You gotta love OHSAA and thank them for protecting all of the girls from the over-eager travel coaches who always puts their win-loss record above the academic responsibilities of the girl. Just look at how it has ruined all of the girls in almost every other state. ?

Since we are on the subject of what-ifs, how about this one. Suppose a HS / travel player has a slumber party for all of her travel team players. They all decide to go out in the back yard and have a pick-up hit-a-round, etc. DD's dad comes out and semi organizes some drills. Does OHSAA have control of our own backyards??? What have we done??
