should go well. If the pitchers 1st six pitches are off she can rely on # 7 .

or even rarer than pitch # 7 , coach could call for the unheard of " down the middle fastball" not used since 10u.

To get back on subject...
You definitely are a pitcher's dad when
1. you have given up on repairing the holes in the basement drywall
2. you can pace off 43 to the inch
3. you call a change up that rolls to the plate "good pitch" because is throws the batter's timing off.
4. you can't understand how all the other parents can be so relaxed during the game.

You are definitely a pitchers dad when the arthritis shows up in your in your left hand first; you squeeze it and wish you could catch your little girl one more time.

If you become adept at recognizing an opposing pitcher's tendency to leap, crow hop, replant, step back, lose contact with the front of the rubber, take too much time to deliver the pitch, land too far left or right of the pitching rubber, or grunt too loudly......and fail to EVER recognize when your own DD does the same. (Not that my DD does these things, I'm just pointing it out!! ;-) )

When you hear your DD say "ouch" from the other room and your first thought is "glove hand or pitching hand?"

You get a call from the school..."Your daughter fell on her arm, we think you need to come get her."
And you actually say outloud..."Please tell me it wasnt her pitching arm!"....:lmao:

When you DD reaches that magical 55 mph and all you can think about is--when will she get to 58?

Good one!! Or when she is measured on the gun at 52-53 and you tell everyone her pitching speed is approaching 56!! (That's not a lie is it??) :D

The guns typically miss a pitch and show speeds of 11 or 8. My DD hit 79 and 106 last week, obviously a similar situation.

You know you are a pitchers parent when have an internal debate about how to phase the story so you can tell the world without selling your soul. (I thought the OFC website might be the best vehicle for this and its free)

When you can relate with other parents about how they've be hit while practicing. Especially that pitch that comes in just short and bounces up and almost hits you in the privates. I can remember this one time I turned my head "to avoid being hit in the face" and WHAM, right in the ear... Man that hurt.

...Or when you dread that part of practice when you DD says "Ok, lets work on my dropball"
