Hello everyone
New to this, my daughter is a junior in high school. She has played softball since 7 years old she is on a travel team and her HS team as well. She is looking into being a physical therapist. Any suggestions which schools she should consider?

Thank you and info will help

That's going to depend on what geographical area she wants to stay in and if she wants to play ball for them. By geographical area, I mean does she want to be within a certain driving distance from home so she can return on the weekends she's free from responsibilities or long weekends/holidays.

Mel19, we need more info. I'm not sure why you're seeking such answers here. I am sympathetic to the "This is all new to me" attitude and believe you can get some quality guidance to help educate you on how this all works. We need to be more familiar with your situation.

Most would seek out their school's guidance counselor to shop colleges for a specific interest. If she is being recruited by schools to play softball, one of your first questions would be if they have an associates or BA (BS) degree in Physical Therapy.

It's okay you asked. There are some very nice people on this site.

Don't you have to have a graduate degree to do that now?
Yes. You need to get a bachelor's degree first then apply to graduate school as all PT schools in the country are now Doctoral programs.

OP: Just a fair warning, PT school is difficult to get into and requires high GPA in a rigorous program. I only say that because the time requirement by most college programs, no matter the level, is pretty intense compared to what your daughter is used to. So make sure she is educated in what will be expected, what types support each school offers their athletes and ask how she can be supported in taking high level science courses while participating in the softball requirements. Best wishes to your daughter. OU has a great program and their undergraduate program does a great job of preparing students for their graduate school program.
