Here is the situation. ......the school district my girls go to is having one last vote for a operating levy this may an if it does not pass (which I seriously doubt it does pass) the district decided to not have any school sports for the 15/16 season. The athletic director is saying that if the girls go to another district to play next year they will have to sit out 50% of all games during that season. I can not find any rule like that but dont know much about how all this works. Hard for me to believe that they would punish the athletes for there district eliminating school sports . Thanks for any input.

It happened in Grove City about four years or so ago and they were even on HBO about it......it does happen........tore families apart as some stayed in district, while their kids moved to others to play....

I believe the AD is partially correct. If the School Board votes NOT TO OFFER A PROGRAM (like softball or baseball) than players can play at an adjoining District. There are time frames within which this must be done. I don't know the Rule, but you should be able to get it from OHSAA. This occurred in our area.
