Could be challenging this weekend. Don't forget your rakes and pop ups.

Please do not call my cell for updates. I simply cannot return that many calls while getting fields ready in the event of rain.

IF we have any delays, updates will be posted to www.tealtownballpark.org

When signing in, please be certain to leave a cell number of your team contact and hotel info.

Thanks

Vern

ever heard of a phone line or rain line that coaches/players can call for field updates???

not every team/coach/player/parent has a travelling wifi laptop connection.

Whoever posted the rainout number is incorrect. It is no longer in use and we only use the web. As of 8:00 we would be ready to play at noon. We purposely did not drag the fields last night to prevent another soaking and we are in a situation where of urgency, all we have to do is line the fields. However, there is another band of rain moving in and who knows.

Do not assume you will not play on time. Had the same situation last year and most games went off fairly close to schedule and you have to be ready to play when the field is ready to keep things moving.

Thanks for the update. It would have been nice if the tournament director would have updated the Rain Line. The last message was from Friday and that said that the fields were closed. Good Luck to all the girls and maybe we can have a rain free weekend.

Hey....I have been on the tealtown website and there is nothing on there about rain delays. Is there a particular place that it is posted? Thanks!

I must be internet challenged.... on the Tealtown webpage, there is a note at the top that says 'FIELD STATUS 07/04/08 FRI 9am, with a note to 'SEE BELOW'. ?I'm not seeing anything 'below' to indicate a field status update.... when I click on the icon above the 'SEE BELOW' I get taken to a 'page not found' error. ?Can someone please clarify WHERE we are to find the field status updates? ?Seems ashame to have a number already set up with a message system, and it's not a viable option to put a simple message of '12:00 games are on a 2 hour delay', or whatever the message would be.

Yes, to be clear, I followed the link:

http://www.tealtownballpark.org/

Again, I'm not seeing where any details of the delay are provided. ? Your view must be different than mine. ?When I scroll down in the center section that contains the NSA State information, there is NOTHING in there to give details of the delay. ?

If you read the BIG RED WRITING in the box, it states to check back at 12:00.

How readily does someone have access to a computer/internet? Don't you think that everyone owns a cell phone? Would n't updating a "Rainout line" be easier and more accessable then traveling long distance - looking for a place with a computer/internet while on the road? Especially when there is a rainout number but officials won't use for whatever reason that can think of. There are teams traveling from the north that need this information before getting to the fields. What is the solution to this? Maybe we can use our tax checks and hurry out to buy a laptap with a wireless internet so they can get the information in a timely manner.
