John Mason is a 41 year old father of two completely committed to making the 2015-2016 Travel ball season one of the best your daughter will ever have. As your manager you can expect the following:
Plans for the season
We are going to work hard and dedicate ourselves to becoming better ball players. We are also going to mix in some fun activities. I plan for some fall tournaments to try to get the girls cohesive as a team. We will practice throughout the winter and see our private instructors for lessons on a weekly basis.
We want to be able to hit the spring tournament season with ?all guns blazing?!
So as it approaches we will enter some indoor tournaments to see how we?ve progressed. If we need a little fine tuning, we may have some additional practices target the areas required. Practice time won?t be an issue as our facility affords us the ability to practice more than other organizations may. This is a big benefit in developing the girls.
We may also gain access to RAW Athletics. The newest, and most ?State of the Art? Fast Pitch facilities in the area.
I plan on being at 9 or 10 outdoor tournaments once spring comes. There will be some overnights involved.
I mentioned fun activities above. To expand on that you can expect your daughter to have some one on one time with college softball players, and meet a head coach in the spring (College Schedule and weather permitting) after watching the game. We will also plan on some team building time with the 4 of the Akron Racers. We?ll also plan a ?Night at the Racers?. This is VIP treatment for my girls at a professional softball game! With any luck we'll do even more!

We took a group of girls in 2015 what we're all 1st time travel kids but 2. I recruited most of them sight unseen because my opportunity to have a team came after tryouts were over. I called other organizations and asked for the contact info of kids they cut.
I called those parents and asked them if they wanted to play. This group of Rec ball players I pulled together have beat many of the teams they were cut from, won a tourney this year, and are pulling off a near .500 season.
I mentioned all that so you get a feel for who I am, and who we are. My coaches and I are fully committed to a fun, enriching, and challenging experience for your daughter. I have a lot more to share and offer than most managers can, and I'm sure your daughter will become a better ball player here.

- Coaching staff and help with a vision of a fun competitive and enriching travel ball season.
- Hotel booking on Team overnight events
- Assistance finding private instructors for batting, pitching, and catching.
- Ahead of time, and detailed communications concerning all Ohio Blast events and organizational news.
- Outside funding for extra events from sponsors.
- Highly structured practices, so there is no one debating ?what should we do next?. Practice time is valuable and should not be wasted. I come prepared to every practice with a comprehensive plan for all of the time we have allocated.
- Howard Kobata defensive skills are taught. Howard?s skills are based on efficiency in fielding and releasing the ball. Fractions of a second are critical, and these skills tip the favor to your daughter in defensive situations.
- Primarily interested in 2003 birth year players
