The Classics have been fielding highly competitive teams for the past 21 years and field teams in age groups 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U. This year's teams experienced continued great success that included many of our teams qualifying for national tournaments. The organization has produced national champions on two occasions.

The Ohio Classics are comprised of highly skilled athletes who choose to play softball. The organization fields teams that compete very successfully at the national level. The organization's goals are to put together competitive teams that attend multiple qualifiers and showcase tournaments with a focus on competing in the nationals at the conclusion of the season. An important objective of the organization is to uphold the first five letters of our name (Class) in everything we do including on and off the playing field. The teams strive to teach life?s lessons through softball, helping these girls as they grow to become excellent athletes, and more importantly, solid citizens and future leaders. The payoff for the players is substantial in terms of developing their athletic and interpersonal skills.

The Classics 18U team is in need of a pitcher and shortstop.

We will carry 12-13 players on our roster. If you are an uncommitted player looking to get seen by the college coaches, this is the place. We have an extremely good track record of placing our players onto college rosters as all of this years players have received offers. We will also take college committed players.

This year's team just completed their season finishing 5th at the Triple Crown Summer Nationals in Myrtle Beach.

We have been traditionally a strong team that plays in the top tournaments around Ohio. We will play a schedule of 5 tournaments including Dayton Metro, Lasers Nation, Ohio ASA States, Stingrays and Loudonville. We will then follow it up with a nationals probably to the Triple Crown in Myrtle Beach.

Head coach Doug Mix is entering his 25th year of coaching fastpitch softball and has a couple of national titles to his credit. He also had 14 years of coaching high school softball with the 2011 team reaching the state finals and the teams achieved 11 league titles. He has placed well over 50 girls on college rosters and is entering his 4 year of coaching the 18U team. He has over 14 years with the organization.

The dates are Wednesday, August 10, Saturday August 13 and Sunday August 14. We are working to confirm the time and dates for each team. List of coaches and contacts is below.

The 12U team will be in search of a few players to fill out the roster for the 2017 season, looking for pitching, overall athletes, and speed. Coached by Dean, Toni, and Amanda Smith, the 12U team offers three coaches that do not have a daughter on the team. We spent this year playing at multiple ASA qualifiers and that will be our plan next year, with the intention of going to ASA Nationals in Dallas, Texas. We are also planning to go the Sparkler Tournament in Colorado for a week at the end of June to compete against some of the best teams in the country. Our tryouts will be as follows:

Wednesday, August 10th from 6-8, at CANAL WINCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL (please note this is a different location than the weekend)
Saturday, August 13th from 9-12, at Pickerington Central High School
Sunday, August 14th, from 1-4, at Pickerington Central High School

OHIO CLASSICS 02 - Tryouts
The Ohio Classics'02 will be centered in the Ashland area, one hour or less from Akron/Canton, Columbus and the North Ridgeville/Elyria area. We will be playing all of the top Ohio tournaments as well as some out of state showcases. We'll play in showcases over the winter, at Akron and Kent.

We are looking for serious athletes who want to get college exposure, play for an A level organization, and play at the absolute highest level. All positions are currently being considered. This is a second year team, but we will consider '03 girls based upon their ability.

We are looking for all 05 players, specifically 2 pitchers, a catcher, and utility players to fill our roster. All pitchers and catchers will play other positions in the field. All players will be developed at multiple defensive positions.

Yes - Scott Sevenish will be taking over the 13U team. Scott had an 18U team last year and has coached in the organization for several years. He will be a non parent coach and looks to build strong team with strong ties to the college coaching community. This will be an awesome opportunity for these kids to learn under a coach with experience in the game and with the ins and outs of the recruiting process.

The Ohio Classics 01-Rawlins team will be conducting open tryouts for the 2017 summer season on Sunday, August 7 from 2pm-4:30pm at Bloom Carroll High School, 5240 Plum Road, Carroll; and, at Pickerington Central HS, 300 Opportunity Way on Saturday, August 13 from 9am-12pm and Sunday, August 14 from 1pm-4pm on Field #2.

Ohio Classics '00 are still looking to add a middle infielder/outfielder for the upcoming 2016-2017 season. This team will return a core group of players that finished 9th out of 92 teams at ASA/USA Nationals at College Station, TX. Our schedule will consist mostly of showcase events and ASA-USA qualifiers, with the goal of playing in the ASA-USA Nationals at the end of the season. This past season, the team played in Atlanta Legacy, Stingrays (fall and summer) showcases, Lasers Nation, Outlaws Fall showcase, ASA-USA qualifiers and the ASA-USA Nationals in College Station, TX. Next year's team will play a similar schedule with the goal to get the players the exposure they need during this pivotal recruiting year of their career.
