Still a great tournament coach Moorehead. Very good competition and there is nothing you could do with mother nature. It happens, I was really glad to be a part of the tournament... May god bless and hope everyone made it back home safely.

I second that, of the 5 games we played, all were battles. What competition! Can't do anything about the rain, which is why every inning matters. We're going to miss our girls....

Shockwave 14u lost in the their 2nd bracket Gold game to move down to the Gold losers bracket. We are all very disappointed that the games were cancelled. Very good competition not only in 14u but all age brackets. I tip my hat off to the Flaming Fury, that is one excellent hitting team.

Does anyone know what the final results were from this tourney or how they determined who won?
We tried the website and didn't find anything? Any help on this?

Sudden Death Softball (SDS) finished 2nd in Pool play. Played Classics Purple first game of bracket play. It was a great game with SDS leading 5-4 after 4 1/2 innings when the first rain came. After the delay Classic Purle scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th to win at the time limit. Great game and Classic Purple is a well coached team.

SDS will have some girls moving up to 14U next season and we will have 12U and 14U for 2008. Watch this SDS team, they are going to compete. Look for try-out information in the other forum.!!!!

The 4 innings were a disappointement & it would have been nice to have the whole hour instead, but at least we got to play. The 14U Classics play @ 7:30 am against the winner of the Buckeye Heat v. Crushers game that was scheduled for 10:15 pm tonight.

In 14U, I believe the Tri State Patriots put the GFOD into the Gold loser's bracket, but not sure of the score.

5-0

0-0 until top of forth inning

Any 10U updates? I know the gold bracket had MOV Fury vs Springfield Vipers as the only 2 undefeated's left before the rain.

As for the top two teams in Gold division,Id say
1. Mov Flamin Fury
2. Springfield Vipers

Fury had only gave up 2 runs total in their games, including probably the best game of the tourny, the winners semi-final game where they topped the Lady Irish 1-0,with a run in the bottom of the 6th inning. One run gave up in pool play and one run in double elemination play.

They used the "runs scored against" standard for seeding after pool play if teams had the same record. If this is the case now with the rain outs the MOV Fury will come up on top.

As for third and fourth place it will probably come down to runs also I would imagine. Dont have the run total for the Cayuga Gamblers, but as for the NWO Lady Irish they gave up 10 runs in their 3 games in double elemination play.

I have nothing to do with the tournament so this is absoultley "unofficial" as it can be. Also this is if the way they will decide. Hopefully they will come out soon with the results.

From what we were told, they were going to take each teams's best 2 games in eliminations.
In case some of the teams actually got 3 games in before the rains came. Then as stated above the runs allowed.
These were for just the Gold and Silver Brackets (Winners Side)

hands down the best 10u team in the tournament was the lakemore vipers and my daughter isn't even on the team. not even close. if they would have played all day sunday things may have been different, but from what i saw all day saturday---not even close. they beat up the n-something irish team and put a second pitcher in to finish the game (8-2). funny thing is their (vipers) #1 pitcher is still 8u eligible!!!

the guy took that pitcher and surrounded her with big kids who could play/hit---simple recipe for succes on many levels. would have liked to see this team play some of the neo travel teams (10u ice, stow bulldogs, others) & see how they do...good (strong) team..

anybody who was down there disagree?

So, I take it that the MOV Fury and Vipers game was not played on Sunday ? The teams were heading to the field when we were leaving, but the rain was alos heading in. Just curious if the game was played.

14u Buckeye Bandits went 3 - 0 in Silver Bracket play.

We did not get to play semi-final or final and they are determining
1st - 4th and posting on here.
Hats off to Ricky Moorehead - he runs a great tournament with over 100 teams entered.

Hated to not get to finish but you can't control mother nature.

The way he scheduled we still got 6 games in - This is our 6th year there and even with rain, it is the only time it has had to cancel and not finish.

We'll be back again next year!

Hope you are not serious with your thoughts there. Hands down better than anybody? The Vipers are a good team, dont get me wrong, but I truely believe the MOV Fury would of won the tournament. Did you even see them and the pitcher/defense that team had? Did you catch the part they only gave up 2 runs in 6 games?
As for the game against the "n-someting irish team",that was the only game that the irish had an off game (which happens in 10u). To say they beat up a team with a score that was 8-2 is a wrong in its own. Play those two teams 5 times and see what happens. Dont get me wrong, the Vipers were the better team that game and deserved the win! Since you was big on the "2nd pitcher finishing the last inning" for the Vipers, guess what.........Irish did not pitcher the number 1 pitcher that game at all. Actually started the game with a pitcher whom was sick all week.

So Id disagree with your thoughts. Dont get over carried away there Bill Walton on your thoughts, even though I see you must be new on here. Viper do have a strong team and that pitcher was good, and their 2nd pitcher also, but NOT hands down better than everyone. Make sure you watch more than one game next time and more teams before you get carried away. Viper was one of the top teams there, but again when you say "best team hands down",you are opening a can of worms!
Just my thoughts.

done already.....is that it? don't get me wrong the fury is a nice team but i don't think they would have score against the vipers....i think that team (vipers) had the fewest runs allowed fri.-sat..........and the irish team did get beat down 8-2. the score could've been worse. to say they didn't pitch their #1 in that game does add another element to it---but how was i to know? i don't know any of these teams, watched them play along with all the others, and let my eyes tell me. On this weekend the vipers were strong. Don't let your heart get in the way.

lets agree that it would've been a great game,,,,best of five would've been even better...peace......bill walton? that bill walton?

ur right statman....the big girls weren't here which makes this whole discussion a joke! to be honest the pitching wasn't as good as i expected, which is probably why none (few) of these teams didn't qualify for states of nat'ls (minus 8u lasers....8u lasers rock!!!). i'm-out

oh by the way i'm not really new here i just don't post if i don't have anything enlightening to say----maybe i should've stayed that course!!!
