The Ohio Hawks 16u Gold team has a strong core of 2018/19 players that played in 6 fall showcases. We played in the super pools at Scenic City and Diamond 9, Stingrays Outlaws Fall Brawl, and Lasers Green Showcases. We competed against teams like the Birmingham Bolts, Tenn Fury, Georgia Impact, Gulf Coast Hurricanes, Firecrackers, Beverly Bandits and others. Getting players recruited means it is critical that teams get positioned in the showcases - Both of my Gold teams played on the ESPN complex in Orlando and in the top Super pools and at the Summit in Scenic City. We are looking for a strong 2018/2019 pitcher to join our staff and due to circumstances at the catcher position a full time catcher..
We are looking for a established pitcher that can throw 58-64 consistently. One that can compete against a very high level of competition. I coach the 18u and 16u Gold squads, we 'swing' 16u players between the teams to maximize their exposure and opportunity (the team play the same showcases). We will practice indoor all winter at our Hit center and a larger facility we rent that allows for game sim and live pitching practice.
Fee to join the team is $450 - which includes all summer tournament fees, 4 jerseys, 4 pants, back pack, etc.
We have secured spots in the super pools at Scenic City, and have applied for Stingrays and Pennsbury. We will play an ASA Qualifier schedule with the goal of playing at ASA Nat's in ILL. In the fall we will again go to the D9 orlando, Scenic City fall, etc.
I recently took our 18u Gold team thru the recruiting process - we have had 8 players as DI recruits (2 playing D1 this year), 4 DII recruits and a couple yet to commit. The current 16u Gold team has 1 D1 recruit, others with offers and after our successful fall 3-4 will be entertaining offers this winter on their visits.
In the past four years, the Ohio Hawks have helped placed 92 players into college softball programs, 22 at the Division I level. We currently have 14 players signed or verbally committed to Division 1 programs this season in our organization. We have 14 additional players playing now that we anticipate accepting offers by the end of the fall season. DI schools where Hawks players are currently playing or are signed are: University of Kentucky, Charleston Southern (2), University of Louisiana-Monroe, St. Peters, Tennessee State (2), Morehead State, Marshall, Ohio University (2), Winthrop, Bowling Green, University of Toledo, Miami of Ohio, University Tennessee - Martin, University of Dayton, and Wright State.
Again, we have an established aggressive summer schedule designed to promote player recruiting and player development and growth. Summer tournaments/showcases to include the Dayton Metro, Scenic City, Penns, Stingrays, ASA Nat's.
