We are looking for a strong pitcher to join our staff.

If your DD is a pitcher and is interested in playing for the Ohio Hawks 16u Lenos team this fall and next summer please contact me here on OFC or via email at CoachDoug@OhioHawks.com to discuss. Player must be motivated to make regular college contacts via email and phone, keep her profile information up to date and have a strong desire to play college softball and can perform in a highly competitive softball schedule.

We have a strong recruiting program in place, 5 players received invitations in the past 2 weeks for campus visits with the purpose of receiving offers. Our 2nd base received her offer from the University of Dayton this week.

Coach Lenos really knows how to call pitches to compliment a pitcher's strong points and win games. If your daughter is a pitcher looking to get to college, give this team a look! My DD subbed for this team and really enjoyed the experience!

We have 2 pitchers currently active and one that had shoulder surgery back in April and will not be ready to begin to pitch until very late fall, she may not be ready until next summer.

We have 1 player that will verbal on Sept 19th, 2 others with visits scheduled soon where they expected to receive offers according to our conversation with the coaches. Our 2016's will be very active this fall in attending 5 showcases and several camps with the intend of getting offers and our 2017's will be building the body of work and gaining exposure for next summer/fall when they will expect to verbal if not sooner.

The fall is shaping up!

Date: 8/20/2014

Dear Doug Lenos,

Congrats on your ACCEPTANCE into the 2014 Veterans Tribute Showcase.

1016 Ohio Hawks - Lenos U16F

In our inaugural year, we are very excited to be hosting almost 100 teams from around the country. Regrettably, that means that we could not accommodate every team and some will be placed on our “Wait List”. Some of those teams may have come from your Club/Organization. Please forgive us for any indiscretions in the selection process.

My DD started playing for Coach Doug, a little less than 2 years ago. She was an athletic girl with little to no softball skills, and no softball IQ. Through hard work and time from both, she has learned the game, developed real skills, and is now a legitimate D1 recruit. Monday after Stingrays my DD received emails from 5 coaches wanting her on campus. the schools were DI, DII, and NAIA. This is a direct result of the recruiting program and network of coaches Doug has put together.

If your DD wants to be challenged, and wants to be seen, this is what you are looking for. The schedule and opportunities are already in place.

We completed a great weekend at Scenic City - record was 4-1 (our pitchers threw 3 shutouts - you have to love it when a college coach tells you they are coming back to your next game even though they watched the entire game that just completed, because they need to see some 'defense' ... our pitchers were that dominate on Saturday with back/back shutout wins)...

We are going into winter training period with camps and team camps. Our injured pitcher who has not pitched in a year decided to not play with us next year due to the uncertainty of her situation putting us at 2 pitchers.

We are looking for that third 'arm' to complete our staff for next season. One of our 2 pitchers, Abby, has a verbal to Slippery Rock, we have a 2017 pitcher uncommitted (but after she struck out 22 batters in 12 innings this weekend - she may not be for long!). Our new pitcher will get plenty of mound time to get her offer!

Please reach out to me if interested in a tryout.

Pitcher needs to throw in the high 50's to low 60's with very good command of her stuff and understand the training and travel commitments of the team.
