18 Under Tryouts Ohio Hawks 18U Adams 2021-2022 Season

All - I am proud to say our Hawks team is having a very successful season. We currently 44-16 since last fall with tournament wins at Tealtown, Ashland Fall Classic (USA National Bid), Dayton Metro, Pete Cook, and Smokey Baker. We also finished 6-1 at Capital City. Both Lance Steckler and I are non-parent coaches, who's daughter played college softball and we will be returning for our 5th season with the Ohio Hawks. We are joined by Meghan Gabriel who played her college softball at Malone University. Our focus is different than most Hawks team whereas we are focused on staying local and assisting players to find homes at local D1 schools, but mostly D2, D3, NAIA, Regionals, and JUCOs. Every fall we do team college camps with colleges such as TMU, Morehead, MSJ, Ohio Christian, Wilmington, Wittenberg, Rio Grande, etc. and even scrimmage against some of those teams. Not all of our players want to continue playing softball in college, but we have nearly 100% placement with those who do.
Our team is looking for student/athletes who take their craft seriously, but still love to have fun and play softball. Nearly every player on our roster received all conference awards for their high school season. Our players will be playing at University of Findlay, Ohio Christian, Wittenberg, Wilmington, Bluffton, Davis & Elkins, University of Northwestern Ohio, Huntington University, and Point Park.

Combination. I am only looking for players who will be in high school so we can a full fall season. I am passing on 03s starting college.

I am personally based out of Liberty Township (Southwest Ohio), but we have players from Wapakoneta, Jackson, WV, Mason, Kettering, Little Miami, Hamilton, Clermont Co., etc. Practices last year were mostly held at Beavercreek in the fall, but I have field options in Chillecothe and Springfield. Usually on Sundays and for 3 hours at a time. In the winter, we did indoor workouts at the Middletown Tennis Center. In the spring and summer we don't practice because of the distance and many of our players have summer jobs or other outside commitments.

Sorry I missed the Tryout question. We are hoping to fill the team with private tryouts/workouts. If I elect or need to do a large "cattle call" style tryout, it will probably be at the Rowe Sports Complex in Middletown, Ohio. Otherwise I have 7 acres of land and we can do workouts at my house in Liberty Township or Springfield or Circleville or Chillecothe.
