Ohio High School Rule Question

Is it permitted for someone to coach a high school team and college team at the same time. Your thoughts please?

Can't find the rule right now, but did run across a Michigan State Office of Compliance power point (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=..._73UAg&usg=AFQjCNGiJ8EjSR9PBsjG4RvEkI-j6iJRTg) that states that they cannot employ (or allow to volunteer) a high school coach in the same sport that the coach coaches in high school. So based on that, I would have to say that Catalyst is probably correct.

The answer is no for NCAA coaches. That is an NCAA Rule. A college or university would be in real trouble if caught.

Not sure for NAIA but I would guess it is the same.

I would like to know how they could find time to do both, both seasons run together
Its tough enough doing travel and high school, could not imagine the time constraints with High school and college

You are correct. There is no way to do both full time.

There is a no-contact period for college coaches regarding high school players... I am sure that it runs through their season.

Curious........would there be an issue of a college coach (or someone from their staff) holding a clinic or providing pitching lessons right now (well next week)? To high school team.

If the clinic or lessons are in a group format, no. Private lessons to high school aged players would run into compliance issues.

Thanks. Our team is having a fielding/batting clinic with a college coach(es) next week but we were asked to if my DD wanted to have some private time with the pitching coach on a regular basis during the season. We already declined because she was working with someone else at the time. Thanks again.
