Thanks but I think I had as much fun as the girls :yahoo:
I just wish it would not have rained out the Racers game. I was liking the clapping to the beat the girls was doing at the game. Games are more fun when the crowd gets into it.
Yes, The Racer ladies are just absolutely wonderful. After being held up at many airports for hours trying to get back to Akron for Saturday's game and having only three hours sleep before the game... their persistant efforts to make all welcomed and take care of the kids attitude is next to none.. from the Akron Racers management all the way down to the individual players themselves taking the time to autograph anything thrown in their face. I heard from one parent that a girl was towards the end of the stadium line of girls and noticed her favorite player had not signed her book yet and the girl " chased her down" yelling Crystal, Crystal.. and Crystal turned around and not only signed the autograph book.. but took the time out of her busy life and being tired to boot... talking with this little girl about softball for a few minutes.
But, that's just Crystal !!!!! No wonder the girls love her.. she loves the girls as well.
I just wish I could have met her as well
but when the rain cames at the 7: 40 or so.. I had to leave to go back to the fields to get ready for the next day's play.
The team's comments are very nice. Thank you. I do think the girls of the tournament had a good time. Hopefully memories as well.
I want to thank my host the Lady Patriots for they are something special in my eyes. Having met them for the first time I can tell the girls love their new coaches, Charlie and Brian. You could tell by the girls demeanor around them. The "Family" Patriots are as of Sunday the "New" Patriots.
The Patriots organization is going through a new organizational procedures and being ran by very wonderful hearted people. I had the opportunity to be around them all weekend and personally witnessed their good deeds.
That pulverizer on the front of the bobcat is absolutely amazing. I saw it in action on early Saturday morning taking a wet field and making it dry and playable in a matter of minutes... after torrential rains of Friday night and early Saturday morning. Then again on Saturday night and into the morning of Sunday.
Just before the first game time of 10:00 am we got hit with light rain and then a light rain for a time. I went to the coaches and explained to them that my "helper" didn't get the diamond dry as I had been told ( and many other things that I won't go into that came to lies) and I had none to take care of the slick upper surface of the field. I could not put the girls in peril of injury.. so we had to await the rain to finish. It did and within minutes with the pulverizer.. we was playing on Field #1 and not long afterwards on field #2. ( please note: we had already used this machinery earlier that morning to get the fields playable. )
I want to thank the coaches and their parents of the two championship games that were to be played that first game that morning for their understanding of safety because of no diamond dry on location besides three bags. New Albany Eagles , Emeralds, Chixs and Jaguars coaches are a class act. Thanks for having the confidence in me and my decisions. I think after witnessing the "pulverizer" in action - you understood what could take place after the rains stopped on Sunday.
I agree with Bill Lesh, when he said " I want one of those".
I personally want two though...:lmao: . instead of just one. That machine is just amazing.
The person running the machine is a man by the name of Johnny who personally took the time out of his busy work schedule to make sure the girls played and the conditions was safe. A big shout out to him for his actions for the girls of the tournament. The girls safety was not only our concern.. but his concern as well and he done the job. Thanks to my new friend Johnny in more ways than you will ever know.
Bill Lesh... thank you for your comments. It was great to put a face with the emails :lmao:... and I second the fact that I have a "new" brother in my life. Your girls just absolutely love you and I can see why.
Jaguar Dan : It was great meeting you as well and when you told me after the tournament that the girls had only won their "first" game only the weekend before and came to this tournament so energized.. ending up winning the championship and the rings and going UNDEFEATED as well for the weekend ..... just shows me that any given day or weekend that a team can finally "gel". Even if it is the final weekend of the year !!!! :lmao:
Dan of the Chixs: You got to be one of the nicest people I have ever met in 52 years of life. Bottom line.
I want to thanks the other teams and parents as well. Greg and the Green Bulldogs, Parma Wildacts and their young girls.
The parents were great.
