I am hearing that the registered number of college coaches is almost double that of last year, which was good then. Great opportunity for the players and for the fans to see quality softball.

Does anyone have the address to the field in Pinkerington? I sure I am just missing it, but haven't found it yet.

The players must attend a tryout and are selected by position by the coaching staff of the team..

My DD is also on the Central team. It appears they are the ones to beat.

Central district goes 5-0 to win the Underclassman Tournament... Kind of a anti-climatic ending to the whole thing ;&

I found it to be a great way to see some of the talent all over the state. Nice to have a program so you can watch and see some of the girls you read about on her and in the newspapers. I thought the Central was the "team" to beat when I saw the roster online a few weeks ago just based on the talent alone. Seeing them in person reaffirmed my thoughts.

I was proud of the SW district with 3 Northmont girls on the roster, and the Hammers team with 6 players on the SW team roster. My girls had fun, played good competiton, played with some great players, saw lots of college coaches, and made a few friends along the way. Also got to know a few coaches from SW district and found out they were pretty good people too. Much of this is just a chance to let your kids network in the softball community. I think it is a great experience and my girls both loved it.

Central was loaded for sure. My DD played with Southeast. This was our first experience. I knew at tryouts it would be a tough couple days for these girls. They only had about 50 tryout for all positions and I was hearing 150-300 in the other districts. Not sure why Southeast is not getting kids to come to tryouts.

Good experience to play against some of the best talent Ohio has to offer. Also, really liked the complex. Good experience and great networking event for the girls.

The SE district does an absolutely horrible job of advertising/promoting this event. I dont have a clue who should be doing it but it isnt getting done. maybe it a collection of the head coachs who are not getting the word out to their players . Maybe not. It's just not promoted to the girls. MD

FYI...you have to try out to play. I've watched this underclassmen roster for years and most of the big programs in N.E. Ohio don't send their girls to this event, or the kids aren't interested. Don't know why. Not one of Keystone's Seniors ever tried out, and I don't remember seeing any Elyria, Hoover, Walsh Jesuit, etc... kids on the rosters. I could be wrong...(or maybe they were cut). It's a fun event I'm sure, and I'm don't want to take anything away from the kids who are playing or the event itself. Good for them for trying out and making a fun event.
