All-Ohio Underclassman All Star Game- Pickerington High School June 23-24, 2008

Does anyone have information concerning this game? How are tryouts conducted? Who is eligible? Have not been able to locate anything online other then the dates.

CENTRAL DISTRICT INFO

The tryouts are Monday, June 9th and Tuesday, June 10th at Westerville North High School. ?Pitchers and catchers should report at 6:00 PM and position players at 7:00 PM. ?Players need only to attend one tryout session, but are welcome to come to both.

The tournament is held Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th. ?The Central District team will be coached by Rick Branaghan (Westerville Central), Bruce Leary (Bloom Carroll) and Randy Hinton (Canal Winchester). ?The tournament is held at Pickerington Central HS.

Registration forms and the waivers should be handed out to players by their coaches, and I believe they are asking that no more than 4 players from each school attend. ?This years Juniors thru Freshman are eligible.

from the info i recieved there were 80 girls asked to tryout for the southwest team,,, should be realy intresting to see this in action,, thats alot of kids to pick from

Went to this last year, Northeast...Total Joke! the teams were already pick...interestingly made up of High School and Summer players of the Hillsdale coach that was coaching last year....hope that doesn't happen again, really left a bad taste in your mouth especially since DD only went becasue it was important to her HS coach...guess All Ohio Pitcher wasn't good enough to make team...They didn't even try to act like it was a fair tryout...coach was joking and clowning around with "His Team" before tryout even started and really didn't give any of the other kids a look....truly ridiculous....know of @ least one HS coach that brought kids that left before it was over when he saw what was going on....none of his kids played either an you had some all Ohio players there too...

NE District also. Last year was the first year DD, or anyone from our school for that matter, participated in this (Coach had to check to make sure she was in the right district because he had never heard of her HS). ?Yes, I feel that they had already selected the 3 pitchers for this game, but all 3 of them were very good pitchers, had good records, and led their respective teams into tournaments last season. My DD is also a pitcher and was a little upset because she wanted to pitch as well, but when you have that amount of talent, it's hard to pick 3. ?She did get selected to play another position, one she never got to play during the HS season because she always pitched. ?It was an overall good experience for her, and she really liked Coach D, the Hillsdale coach. ?Fun 2 days of softball and a good way to represent your district.

I went thru this list and there are some major players on teams missing - some schools are absent altogether??

Most, if not all, have not even had tryouts yet, so there is no list. Each district will have tryouts dates, that every coach should be aware of. Teams will then be picked and the games played at Pickerington.

yes it is, and from what ive heard it was an invitation only, dont take that as gospel , thats only here say from a coach i talked to about it...........

Yes tryouts are by invitation, you HS coach has to recommend you
