In my opinion, this was probably one of the best softball experiences my dd and I have been a part of! The way they set up the girls playing time, and pitching time, and the batting line up rotation, takes all of the stress out of the game. My dd went and played her 4 innings every game, and batted actually pretty often considering there were 20 kids batting. I watched and took lots of pics of her playing and making more friends from all over the state!! I truly wish she could do it again next year, but she will be a senior!!

My DD played in that tourney. I thought it was a good event. the games were well organized. I thought that the competition level was good. My dd made some new friends and played with some girls that she has known but never played with. She had a great time. She played for the central district and loved it. I know that the southeast district had a couple of players on the roster that didnt show and they had to take outs every time their spots came up to bat. And from what I heard both of those kids would have been difference makers for them. I am sure that the fact they didnt even bother to show and their names were on the roster didnt bode well with the college coaches that were in attendance. I am not saying that they even noticed but if for whatever reason they payed attention and those players just didnt show would definately throw up flags. and it was nice to see some Ohio D1's there as well as some of the smaller schools.

Not sure about the rest, but this did not happen. Players may have missed for whatever reason, but they did not have to take outs for those players not being there. SW had a player out of state and she showed up a game late and it did not affect SW taking an out. We also had a player get hurt and she had to leave and SW did not have to take an out for that either.

My dd played for the central district and loved it. I thought the games were good and fun. It was an all-star tournament so the priorities of the event are different than that of a travel tourney, but, competitive nonetheless. MD as for the SE district two key players that were on the roster didn't even bother to show. Both of these kids could have made a diffence for them, instead they cost them two outs every time their spots came up. and in a couple of situations it really hurt them in scoring situations. There was a try out and those kids took spots from someone else. There was college coaches there including some D1's. So irregardless of personal opinions of what is competitive or not they obviously felt that the event was worth using a recruiting day for. Just saying!!!

When we played SE they had to take outs for the two no shows. I talked to a parent and found out that one was a pitcher and one was a catcher. If they had told the coaches they would not be there the night before, they could have been replaced with no consequences, but because they just didn't show up, they had to take outs for them. Also, they had a player get hurt (a catcher) and she could no longer play. The parent told me that because she got hurt at the tournament they did not have to take an out for her.

OK, let me rephrase it then....it did not happen against the SW district when we played the SE. We played them the first game and they did not have to take outs for missing players.

I wonder if because it was the first game they let it slide hoping they would show. They were our 3rd game (I think). But they did take outs when we played them, but just for the girls who weren't there.
