USSSA Tournament OHIO WAVE announces 2008 Tournament schedule

For the 6th year now the Ohio Wave Fastpitch Organization will be offering two fastpitch tournaments. Both of these events typically draw some excellents teams from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and even Michigan. Both events are World Series Qualifiers and are sanctioned by USSSA.

GREENVILLE Early Bird Shoot-Out


May 16th - 18th

10U / 12U / 14U

Berths will also be awarded for 11U and 13U if applicable. If there is enough interest in those age groups we will run them seperately.

Typically 30 - 40 teams attend this tournament



WORTH-Ohio Wave Fastpitch Classic

June 20th - 22nd

10U / 12U / 14U / 16U

Berths will also be awarded for 11U / 13U / and 15U if applicable. If there is enough interest in those age groups we will run them seperately.[/size]

Typically 50 - 60 teams attend this tournament

Last year we hosted teams from five states in this event.

we played in 10 tournaments last year and i would have to say the 2 greenville tournaments were the best we were in. very well ran. nice fields. good food.

Thanks Rich. Whats wrong with us anyway, here it is mid January and we still have not had a chance to beat on each other yet, I think we both have a bad case of the flu. Well I do have a bumbed eye right now, heard about E and I took a fall ball directly to the eye and fractured my nose and eye socket, everything will be fine though. Sounds more painful than what it is. See ya soon.

Paul, since you guys can not make it over on Jan 26th see what you ca do on Saturday Feb 2nd. Should have 4 teams and we will scrimmage all afternoon.

We have 4 or 5 14U teams coming over on FEB 16th and we are looking to have a total of 6 teams. If you can make it that would be great. We sould have some nice scrimmages and everyone could get two good games in. Please let me know ASAP, I do not want to over book.

Both tourneys look to be shaping up nicely. I see the Lasers 9U are coming over in June. I was recently told this team looks really good (even better than the 10U Lasers <--- just what I was told). I'm anxious to see them. Does anyone know if this is the same 8U team that won it all in Indy last year?

Thanks Ringer. We actually have a number of teams that have not been to one of our tournaments in the past checking us out so we are expecting to fill up once again.

As far as that lasers team is concerned I am sure that they are pretty good. They typically are and we always welcome the Lasers teams to our events and have enjoyed have them here in the past. They help raise the bar for sure.

For the Early Bird, everyone is at Stebbins Field. For the WOW Classic, 10s and 12s are at Sater fields and everyone else is at Stebbins. Both complexes are nice.

For the 10s and 12s that haven't played the June tourney, I think you and your girls will really like playing at Sater Fields. The fences are at 165' and you will see some dingers from both age groups. We had 2 hit out from our 10U team last year and a couple of other 10U teams put a few out also. Ironically, the 12s didn't put any more out than the 10s, maybe it's the bigger ball. You'll see the biggest smile you have ever seen when they get to jog around the bases.

Not to mention that the diamonds and the facilities at the Sater Complex are awesome. Very well manicured infields and outfields, covered dugouts, plenty of close to the field parking and indoor restrooms. We all know that the Moms love that.
