Here is the list of events where you can go to play to get in your 2 tournaments:

Re: IFA insurance

Tim,

I am still a bit green on keeping up with the "red tape" of running a team. haha. That being said, can a team use ANY sports insurance policy for all tourneys they play in, or do some associations require you to buy only their insurance for their tourneys?

Thanks.

Re: IFA insurance

Our insurance is good anywhere with any association. But, you might want to check with ASA about their tournaments. The discussion and answers from ASA to people of the OFC has been different and different states of ASA is different.

But ours is good for all sanctioning body events.

We also have practice field site insurance for $25.00 available if the fields you practice on requires it from you and your team.

Our insurance is from Jan 1st to December 31st. It is a $50.00 deductable and it is Hartford Insurance Co is the carrier.

When a coach changes over a team in August, the insurance goes with the coach and after August tryouts and he has his new team set... then he sends me a roster and his new team is insured until Dec 31st.

The roster is the people insured.

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

We are trying to help the 14u teams who have a short season by putting the tournaments you attend to get an "at large" berth at two (2) events.

So all age groups, must attend 2 events to get an at large berth.

Added 12u teams as they can go to the Nationals in Oklahoma or play "up" in the 14u "B" division which is in Cincinnati, Ohio

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

You are welcome Roger. Some 12u sister teams of the 14u and 10u teams have asked and it always been the option for 12u to play up.

In 10u and 14u tournament play... if you WIN a berth you are considered "A"...if you get an "at large" berth you are considered a "B".

In 12u, you will be a 14u "B" under all circumstances if you play in Ohio. Going to Oklahoma is another matter. If you are going to Oklahoma, then the above "A" and "B" explaination is in effect.

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

I have a really stupid question but just have to ask it. I see that our DD's team is on the list of teams that have already qualified and to my knowledge we have never even played an IFA tournament. Heck I don't even think that they are sanctioned IFA nor do they intend to play in any IFA events that I know of. Our coach put out the list of tournaments that we will be attending in 2009 and I did not see any IFA qualifiers on there. Maybe we are just special.

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

I think I remember a thread talking about Indiana IFA offering births to any team that just played in an IFA event or maybe it was played in a qualifier. Maybe these births are carry-overs from fall tournaments.

Haven't you guys been reading all the posts? This is IFA's way of "giving the game back to the girls" .... EVERYONE GETS BIRTHS, NO GIRLS LEFT BEHIND!!!!!

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

All the NAFa qualifiers from last Fall, when I came to IFA I gave them IFA cards for free and also gave them the berth they won to come to the IFA event since it was I who was giving the tournament.

The others listed as at "large berths" fell into the category of attending two IFA events to get an "at large" berth as I have the list from the two Urbana events (one in April and one in July) and thus the above named teams have berths to the Nationals.

Teams who win berths will be in the "A" division and teams who didn't win berths and played in the required two events... will be placed in the "B" division.

Engelberg: That was Indiana NAFA that was offering teams who played in one event a berth to the "B" Nationals in Indiana.

Our "A" division will be teams who won a berth and will be facing other teams from all over the country who won a berth as well. That should make the "A" division very competitive.

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

oqm don't you think it would be a good idea to announce the teams after the actually played in the tournament? What if some of them plan on playing in one of those tournaments but for some reason have to change their plans or what if they have not sent their money in to the TD yet and end up going somewhere else. The old adage "the cart before the horse" seems to apply here.

What if ASA came out and announced all of the expected winners of the 2009 ASA qualifiers based on who the state director thought was going to win. Oh wait a minute, my bad other state directors are not out there forecasting the future.

Re: Teams Qualified for IFA Nationals

Choosen One:

Teams shown with "at large" berths are the teams who have the right to attend the National tournament because they are scheduled to attend the needed IFA events to qualified. I haven't listed them as "A" or "B" but just qualified. It's very easy to delete the ones who don't appear and the informational thread does have an "edit" button.

As for ASA, they do list their qualified teams on the national website... They just don't in Ohio on this forum.

Re: June 19-21 IFA 14u Region 10 Championship II

Tim,

how many berths are awarded at this tourney?

Any qualifiers for 14-u on the following dates?May 2-3 ; May 30-31 May 22-24 or June 26-28? Do we have to go to one in OH or can we go to another state to qualify for the 14-U Nationals?
