I have no problems with them being at a tryout. If we are all here for the right reasons (To help these girls become a better person on and off the field) then there is no problem with it. I actually talk to coaches and send them girls for tryouts that our organization pass on. We had the honor and privilege to look at 67 girls our first tryout for 8u-14u. A lot of those girls we passed on and I sent their info to another team just to help out the coaches and the parents. Maybe they will see something our coaches missed. I would like to see these coaches and girls do well. ALL of them. I agree It would be different if the coach was in the parking lot recruiting. If we all swapped the girls that we passed on I think there would be some hidden talent found. JMO.

Or a a coach of a current organization and age group brings his daughter to those tryouts and while his daughter is going thru her tryouts he is talking to parents about coming to there current team. And then go home and call one of the coaches of the team she was trying out for to ask them if his daughter would be interested in playing for them. I think that's a little over the line. But as I always say karma will always work everything out.

I saw this happening at one of the tryouts we went to. A coach we've played against in the area in rec ball, who we know was attempting to put together his own team, was approaching parents during the tryout. I know it happens, but it seems dishonest to me if your motive is solely to grab players out from under organizations who've worked hard for years to build the reputation that attracts top talent to tryouts.

The funny thing is that I heard he wasn't able to get a team together and has since joined up with the team whose tryouts he was poaching. If the coach only knew...
