I attended a Coaching Clinic in Nashville over the winter. Jacquie Joseph (MSU) handled the recruiting segment of the clinic. She said the first time they see Suzie look at Mom or Dad in the stands when something goes wrong, she is done......unless she throws 63 mph, then they put up with all that sh!t.

Even at the younger age group you almost have to evaluate the parents as much as the ball player because a bad parent can cause serious trouble to a team over the summer.

Parents can ruin it for the athlete. I have personally seen this happen. Feel bad for the athlete but totally understand the coaches view. Nobody wants the extra "bad" baggage!

Do you remember the parent message from Kirt Whiteside QDSN, Where the dad was duct taped outside..priceless...but; words of wisdom for all...

We played for a great coach who at the very first practice told all parents she had a contract that we had to sign and in that contract it stated that under no circumstances (unless your kid is really hurt) were you to be in or near the dug out. Once the kids were warming up for a game they were hers and we were there to cheer them on only! If you were in the dugout or yelling at the kid the kid was benched for the game. The girls played and had fun and we didn't have one problem with parents all year.

They blew up our team! We had so much potential and talent...but too many newbee parents that could not keep their mouths shut!

I hope we do too! She loves the game so much and would play any position any time. I can't stand it when adults ruin it for kids.

Tell her to just keep working hard and she will find the right fit and remind her to not let a coach take something she loves away from her it's a great sport.
