Hi Dynasty,
I thought I sent a message to you a few days ago, but I was looking at my sent items and I didn't see it, so I will just post it instead.
What you are proposing is one of the things that Stay in Softball does. Stay in Softball is a non profit organization that helps players
overcome any barriers that keep them from either paying softball or playing at the highest level they desire. We help players and teams
that do not have enough money for equipment, coaching or other expenses. We sponsor free clinics (coached by higher level travel ball coaches and assisted by
travel players). We hold used equipment collection drives (and then donate the equipment to players who need it). We also help
players/families if they have experienced an emergency (like a serious illness, loss of job, etc.). We are offering a few free
coaches' clinics over the winter/spring for rec, CYO and other beginning coaches (again, instructed by elite instructors) and we also, generally,
try to promote the game and also help foster sportsmanship and charity among Ohio (and western PA) area players.
SI is run by players and adults (coaches/instructors/parents). We have a great initial group of people but do not have many people/players
in the Cinci/Dayton area, the Toledo/western Ohio area and the Columbus area involved so far (although we have two great coaches who have
recently expressed an interest and we will be taking them up on their offers to help-- including MD 20/20)
So we are looking for people like you
(and those you are listed if they are interested) to become involved. SIS would support the clinics that members agree on by providing equipment,
soliciting donations, providing funding for space/field rental (if required) , etc.
If you are interested- or if ANYONE on the site is interested- in being involved - players too!- please message us through the forum or e mail
us at
stayinsoftball@gmail.com We are pretty busy right now preparing for and soliciting teams to play in our charity tournament
that is being hosted by Valley Extreme in October, but after that is done we will be ready to start planning new activities for winter and spring.
I am pretty sure that every coach, player and instructor that has been involved in our activities has enjoyed being involved and has also felt like
it was a worthwhile experience for both themselves and the players involved. So, please let us know if you are interested.
