Yes Red makes Johnny feel bad for not studying, and we cant have that.

Great article Statman. Sounds like in this case the kids is trying to play "down".

Hard to judge really without having all the facts. I still can't imagine punishing the kid though... If he is playing "down" he's only hurting himself IMO. You only get better by playing with better competition...

I stand by my america's youth being wussified statement lol, the whole thing is about the parents, I know there are 2 sides to every side of the story, but as soon as parents get involved that is when kids sports start becoming a cluster.
