A couple weeks ago my daughter was pitching in a tourney and the field ump told her and the CF that they had to remove the metal hair clips that they had in their hair. This was in the semi-finals of the tourney. These are little clips the girls use to hold their hair back and they are about an inch long. She has played all summer long with these clips and has played NSA, ASA, and USSSA. I don't know if the Ump considered this jewelry or not, but when our coach asked what the problem was with the clips the Ump said "Take them out or sit the bench and don't ask me any more questions about it". Now here is the funny thing, the CF also had on small stud earrings and she didn't make her take those off.

Statman Ray is it true you had a nose ring put in so your wife can lead you around and keep you away from the walking taco's?

We had a young lady with the area between her nose and upper lip pierced and the first half of the season wore a clear plastic stud which somewhat hid the piercing, but by the end of the season didn't hide the fact that she had a metal stud in. Most tournaments, the fact that they had piercings in seemed not to become a concern for officials or coaches, I realize safety is a factor in all the games but it seems like it fizzles out the longer the season goes on. The first half everone does a "jewelry check" but it eventually fades to, lets get playing.

My dd has played with both a pierced nose and belly button for years. ?She wears a clear nose stud, which only a few have noticed she had in, and she wears a clear, flexible belly ring. ?Neither has affected her play, no injuries because of wearing them. ?I would never recommend wearing metal nose studs or belly rings during a game. ?She also has a tattoo on the top of her foot, and like Hermom's daughter, she is an honor student, going to college this year.
