PREDICTIONS???

Bink 44 hit it right on the head.

Valley Extream White
Ohio Ice
C.O. Stingrays
Cincy Doom 95
Ohio Classics
Ohio Topguns
Buckeye Heat 95
Ohio Roadrunners
Scioto County Wild Thangs
Lasers Silver

These are probably the best in the 12-U division. I know there may be a few that are left out that might have a chance but this is the Beef. MD- the static black is a very good up and comming team . From the South they will be a contender but at the top of the class in the south is the Doom 95. Outside of the Doom from what I've seen the Stingrays will be a very tough out.

Aren't some of the teams listed in the 16u - 1st year 16's....Seems to me that is a pretty high expectation of those teams.

username.....they are predicting top Ohio teams. ?There will be stud teams from many other neighboring states that you could put above some of those teams listed, but they are looking at the top possible teams in the state of Ohio. ?Some of those Indiana teams are as tough as they come, the game has also come a very long ways in the state of WV, and how about Team Long Island, ouch

Like as many have stated, it is a little early, but you know many on the list will be tough from the get go as their core and strength has been together for many years.
There seemed to be some transitions on many teams this past year as well as some new teams, so there will certainly be some surprises as the season comes upon us.

I would like to add there are several teams that I think would qualify as top Ohio teams but they really won't be playing much at all in Ohio tournaments choosing instead to play in multiple states during the summer in what would be considered exposure tournaments.

I won't boot you off - BUT - I will make your life a living..... especially in Oct. ? ;D

I will make you a deal. Come the end of the season, if Cleveland wins the Central you change you avatar to Chief Wahoo for a month. If the Tiger wins the Central I will assume the Tigers logo for a month. In event that both teams make the playoffs - regardless of the above - we keep our avatars and call it a tie.

Deal?

Username, I considered putting a couple of Western Pa. teams in there but then I thought about our friends from the west (Indiana) and decided to keep it all Ohio teams. I've been hearing great things about the Pitts Furies 12U but I have little first hand knowledge???

I did a 12U road trip one weekend last winter, where I took in several games Saturday morning at Field of Dreams in Belville, then watched about 4/5 games at Spano Dome that didn't finish till around 11:00pm that night, and then spent Sunday over in Youngstown watching the Slammers, Lasers Silver, Valley Extream and several Western Pa. teams square off. Now remember I'm from the Columbus area with no DD playing, but was interested in what was at the 12U level, plus just watching/learning some great FASTPICH was just what the Doctor ordered on a snowy Ohio weekend!!! ?;D This is basically how I learn about what is out there.

Now with that being said, a top team or 2 will come from the Northwest part of the state later on in the year, but the problem at least with the younger age groups is they seldom travel over to Akron/Canton or down to the Columbus area. So they are seldom seen unless you travel up there. This is why there is no representation on my list from that part of the state.

Anyway good luck to all as we get ready to enter the 2008 FASTPITCH season!!! :)

I know the 12u team my daughter play's on is never mentioned although we are 3-0 against one team on most everyone's list and 500 against 2 other teams on most list's. And I know it is just opinion's so I thought I would throw my 2 cents in.

people have to remember that the slammers are a 1st year 14u team and Ice Richards is a 2nd year team. that one year at this age group means a lot.

With that said, they are pretty equal. No one is going to out work the slammers. fundamentals will keep them in every game.

I like the one comment earlier that said they were a bunch of little kids running around. Have you seen these "little" kids? The catcher is 5'9" or so.

When Kalafatis saw the Slammers catcher at the winter camp she looked like she was really tempted to make her an offer right then and there. But Woolfman I have to respectfully disagree that it will make any difference with the Slammers being a first year 14U team. They played up at 14U at every tournament that would let them and were a dominate team doing so when they were only 12U's. If I know Bigtrain, the Slammers will be playing every opprotunity this season at 16U. Any bets on how they'll do? I'll give good odds, after all one has to pay for travel ball somehow.
