Now that Heather graduated and the Hilliard girl is staying at Darby I say Ready will still be strong with 4 more more year of the younger Widner.

Statman , what don't you understand? The girl that was supposed to go to Ready has decided to go to Darby. This leave the door open for the young Widner to start for 4 years like her sister Heather did. I think Ready will be just fine with another Widner on the mound.

Don't bust Statman, it was a pretty vauge post. Especially to those of us outside the "Hillard-Darby" loop. :-?

Ready will be loaded with new talent coming their way and will be blessed with at least 2 new pitchers that are willing to work hard at their craft. Add the new talent to the older talent that is staying and maturing and they should be a team to respect.

sun dragon,
i agree there will be talent galore coming to ready in the next several years, but
why are we talking about new pitchers at ready. i'm sure the younger widner will be good, but they also have a freshman who pitched when the older widner went down and did very well.

Slinger...read my post. That is exactly what I said....old and new talent. It will take the whole team and there is plenty of talent. I don't always like naming the kids on here....seems self serving sometimes. But I am a bit partial to the younger pitcher that was on the mound during HW injury and a few of the players coming into Ready this year. A little bit of time and a coach who believes in a player will do wonders for any kid. I am looking forward to following the team this year.

personally I am quite thankful that the darby/ready/darby transfer decided to stay. ?i have seen her play and she is a decent player who will benifit any team she is on....freshman, JV, or varsity. ?just hope that she will be evaluated for her talent as a ball player and not overlooked because of what has happened in the past.

Is recruiting season still on at Ready or is it too late? What is required -- skills tapes, personal tryouts??

didn't mean it as any harm, i considered the soph to be a "oldie" for next year, and a force to be reckoned with. i hope the coach and staff follow your advice and have patience with the kids they have, coach them, and don't worry about who they don't have. they have plenty of talent at their doorstep, just coach them!!!

Are you saying the Ready coach is a good recruiter like John Cooper, but can't win the Big One?
