With all the talent Ready has had over the last 10 years or so you would think that they would have won a least one State Championship especially playing in Division 3. They get Division 1 talent but they seem to fade come tournament time which is reminiscent of John Cooper when he couldn?t, win the Big One (Michigan or a Bowl game)

Ready will be strong again just like the years before. ?They have a ton of young talent coming in. ?They have two pitchers- the younger Widner and Katie Ardrey (currently pitches for Buckeye Heat).

I am very familiar with Nick Joseph. When I coached Johnstown I played him several times.

Here is what I see:
He plays top notched talent in central Ohio, many in D1 and 2
He also seeks top notched talent outside of central Ohio.
He is very successful in those games and finishes with some of the better records in the area.
He wins the Districts more often than not.

It appears that he had done all the right things to prepare his teams for the post season. The bottom line is that it comes down to ONE game and on a given day anyone can win. I would wager that some of the teams he's lost to in the past post seasons, Ready would have won a best of three series most of the time.

Some teams would kill to have the success that Ready has had over the years. JMHO

With the talent that Ready has had and playing in Division 3, I think several coaches would have won a least one state title in the last 10 to 12 years even given your "on any given day" reference. That excuse cannot be used year after year.

I would ?have to disagree with you stallions. ?What in the world are you suggesting? Fire coach Joseph? ?I have been around HS and travel softball for a while and I can tell you emphatically, he IS pulling all of the right strings. ?You would be making a BIG mistake if you tried to replace Nick. ?Widner is there because of coach Joseph. Heck, about all of the past and present players are there because of him and the success of the program. ?Take the coach out of the equation and the girls would go to Watterson, DeSales, etc. ?The coach has put together a program that insures that they will compete for the title year after year and attract the talent that insures that they will compete.

Stallion, rejoice in what you have and quit the sour grapes routine. ?I challenge you to talk face to face with coach Joseph. ?When you do, have an agenda of what you would do differently. ?I will venture you will have very little to offer the program.

In defense of coach Joseph, my daughter plays for his 14U summer team. He is and unbelievable teacher and motivator. I have been very impressed with him and his dealings with the players. He's taking a group of girls that are mostly between 6th grade and 8th grade, with a couple 9th graders sprinkled in, and working with them this summer. This team is young and green but working hard and most of these girls are potential "Ready" girls. We feel very blessed to have the opportunity to have our daughter on his team.

Everyone Listen. I started positive saying Ready had another Widner pitching for the next 4 years now that the Hilliard girl is not coming. The everyone came back at me including Manitoudan and Statman Ray who sound like they were in the band in high school, I sure they were not athletes. All I was saying is he gets loads of talent and should be in the final four most years and winning a couple state championships. Come on now he had 5 player that played for the Laser Red and another from the Sting Rays-Cotrell and players from HOH, Doom, Freeze and he cant get out of the district? I went to a Catholic schools and I feel offended when non-Catholics go to Catholic schools just to play sports. Bottom line is he had the talent and hasn?t won the Big Game.

I would have to say that the loss of the Darby girl will be hard very hard but i know that lil Widner is willing to step it up and do what ever she can to be the BEST!<just like her SIS.

Can this be moved to the HS area. The last thing on most of our minds is HS ball.

...did the Darby girl actually pay tution??? From the sounds of it she was never a student there just talked & thought highly about going there. Technically a coach has an idea of the talent coming in but you never know who might truly shine once it's offically HS SOFTBALL season :)

and as far as the Darby girl goes, good for her to keep everyone guessing where her awesome talent will land!!!! You never know she may move to another district...heard Triad has a good program!

Pitch #15
She was told she would start all 4 years, ahead of all the other pitchers other coming in including Widner. If Angelo tells you anything else his lying. Ready will wish they had her before her career is over not only in softball but basketball also.

I?m impressed with athletic accomplishments. Why don?t you go down to the corner carry out buy a carton of Kools , go back to your double wide and get drunk on that Kentucky moonshine and celebrate your impressive accomplishments.
