Rec AND Travel ball?

Honestly most of your "travel" teams are glorified rec teams with higher player fees.... but that's in Western PA, Ohio may be different.

Go to some local tournaments and you will find some good rec teams who will beat some very average and below average "travel teams".

That will not happen very often in Ohio. Maybe, some below average travel teams but that is about it. Most of the time our travel teams are made up of the best rec girls out there, so how could a rec team beat those teams? Once in a while, but not on a consistent basis. If they have a great pitcher that didn't want to travel, they might stand a slight chance, other that that , pretty easy victory for the travel team. There will always be an exception to the case but in general that is not the case.

Thank you all!

Believe me, we are not trying to take anything away from our dd. She is actually the one who began the "I do not want to play rec ball" conversation in our household. We simply wanted to get thoughts from this forum how playing or not playing rec has affected those in this community.

Bombers - WOW....I can't believe your rec league plays 10u that way. I agree that playing by those rules would be breeding grounds for very bad habits trying to go from THAT to tb all the weekends. No way would we consider playing on both teams in that situation!

I'm thinking being a part of this online community is going to be very beneficial.
