Travel ball and Rec ball?

When DD's team was playing a SoCal team last year at the Nationals, I asked a parent from that team if they play Rec Ball in California. His reply was.. What is rec Ball?....:)

Although CA does have "many more" high level teams in all age groups than OH they also have about 10X more recreational leagues than Ohio...

Watch some of the CA High School Games on i high, Obviously, a lot of recreational players at the High School level there as well.

Just looking through the ASA Finals 2010/2011 14U-18U CA teams seem to not fair much better than AL, GA,TX or FL teams.
Just looking over the past 5 years looks like GA and TX are producing a lot of top finishes at National Champions from cost to coast...

Well, I certainly agree with you on all of this. This team we played (18u) had claimed to be 58-5 and they claimed to be the 18u Champions at the colorado sparkler tournament. DD's Stingrays Team put a 9-1 wooping on them. They did not handle it to well, they were a very high strung team with high strung coaches that obviously were not used to losing. I am sure or I at least hope that all Cali teams don't act in this manner.

It been 4 years since we were visiting the left coast. We were only in Santa Cruz CA and Salem OR.

Both had very nice facilities with some very solid players but not much different overall than OH.
The teams we watched coaches and parents seemed like they were just out to have a good time and watch some ball. No more drama than any other youth event but I am sure they have their fair share of trouble teams.

We were only able to see 12u and 14U teams that my cousins DDs played for.
We still follow the girls on I High and We play

Don't be so modest. The reason why they acted like that was because an OHIO smacked them.
