Now that it's almost September of her senior year, I'd be researching everything beforehand, gathering information on those trips, and then being ready to move pretty quickly instead of sitting on offers at this point in time.
"MOVING QUICKLY" that caught my eye, learn what you want from this...
Labor Day weekend of DDs SR year visited a D2 campus she very much was interested in and met with the coach. Coach ask her on her visit if she was willing to sign early, much to my surprise she told him "NO"...oh the thoughts that went through my head
. Her reasoning was that she was still in communication with a couple of D1 coaches she was waiting for offers from.
She continued to stay in contact with the D2, even telling everyone back home that that would be her choice if nothing else came up & set up another visit (basically put all her eggs in his basket without letting him know). The last day of the early signing period she received an e-mail from him letting her know that his roster was complete and he was cancelling her visit and would not be making her an offer. She was crushed!!!
It was only after she dried her tears, that she realized her dream was slipping away FAST and started to be a little pushy. As far as the D1 coaches, school #1 - assistant coach who was recruiting her retired and head coach said that playing position was now filled...school #2 DD applied to, was accepted to the college, visited the school, watched a team practice, met with the coaches & then was offered a walk on position with no money in March.
She did end up signing with a D2 school in the area of the country she wanted to be and does love being there, so all is well, but you have to think if she would have been more persistant earlier on, would she have had more offers earlier.
