On Friday because of threatening skys, lightning warning horn sounds in the middle of our game. ?All the fields are cleared (and rightfully so). ?About the 3rd inning for the entire time slot of 8 fields and 16 teams. ?This all happens at about 4:30pm.

Time on the games keeps running while we wait for the all clear. ?Time runs out, therefore game is considered no contest if we have not completed 3 innings otherwise the score counts.

I only heard of one game that was considered complete.

Now the tournament is advertised as a 6 game GUARANTEE.
It is only Friday at ?this point.

They play the next time slot no problem after the all clear is given.

Tournament Director says " I have 600 games to schedule this weekend, it is impossible to continue or makeup these games."

SATURDAY: ?5PM IN THE AFTERNOON OF A BEAUTIFUL DAY, 4 OF THE 8 FIELDS ARE EMPTY. ?BY 6:30PM 6 FIELDS ARE EMPTY, AND ALL GAMES FOR THE DAY ARE COMPLETE AT 7:30PM. ( gee in another 2 hours it will be dark )

Why weren't these GUARANTEED games made good? ?The teams involved certainly were not scheduled somewhere else.

THESE TEAMS DESERVE A REFUND FOR THAT LOST GAME !!!

And while we are on the subject, with all that available field time between 5-9pm each day, why did we have to start the tournament at 9am on a Friday?

The lightning stoppage, did you notice that not all games stopped? Some continued and some was cut short.
Games on adjoining fields! Our home ump kept saying "the lighting is all the way over there" (what a dummy)
Finally the coaches on both teams demanded a halt in the contest, But only got when rain was so heavy you could not see.
The seeding was silly, we only played half the teams in our pool. Had 7 teams in pool only played 3
We only lost 1 game (weather shortened one) run ruled the rest and got a 8 seed? with 4 brackets???????
Then taking the "A" final bracket and starting it 2+ hours before "B" bracket (8:30AM), while lesser seeded and "B" bracket teams started at 11?
If we knew that, we would have played pool totally different
Other than that, all in all it was OK tourney

I will have to say I was also disappointed with the way the "lightening" and "rain" delay was handled on Friday. We are on playing on fields that have lights, with no plans after the 7:00 PM game. Even some of the umpires were amazed that we couldn't finish 2 innnings in a game and would only push back the next game 1/2 hour MAYBE. It's hard to swallow when you are coming back in a game and end up loosing because they don't want to get off "track" on time. How many tournament have most teams been to that due to rain, play at 11:00 or later to get caught up. I know those are some of the weekends we remember most. Unfortunate to say the least how the clocks "kept a runnin".
