Since it is getting to be that time of year (the wait is growing shorter), what type of cleat do you prefer or recommend?

My dd feels the Tanel 360 feel lighter on her feet , so she has two pair of them.

Stay away from the Tanels !! My dd loved they for about two tournements . The cleats wore off so fast . Worst purchase we have ever made . Don't waste your money.

Tanel is the best cleat weve used, light, strong, and lasts longer than any other weve tried,. shes a position player not a pitcher so i cant vouche for their pitching cleat

My dd is a pitcher. Our first pair we had a cleat break, in 60 days. They sent a brand new pair no ? asked, after one phone call. Customer service is excellent.

Now that metal cheats have been approved for this comimg HS season, i'm wondering if we will see a rise in ankle injuries, without a doubt they get a better bite in the ground and there is a lot of up side to metal I am just wondering about the downside.

maybe there is somebody out there who has wore both in various sporting events that could shed some light for us on the pro's vs con's

Had Tanels last year the cleats wore off very fast and she was very carefull not to walk on alot of concrete always wore slides to the field. Just recieved a pair of Ringors yesterday so we'll see which is better! Never had any luck with either of my kids in Nike and my son hated the Under Armour he had last year.

In terms of metal cleats. Read J J Huddle article I think they now are on page 52 of this debate. We have 2 years before my dd buys a pair, but she tried them and loved the feel. From talking to the college players at camps, they didn't have any probems going to metal and all love them for the reasons you stated. I wore them in baseball for years with no problem.

Ringors are a little heavier, but they will last.
Nike's are JUNK. ?2-3 pairs a summer.
Have heard that Tanels are similar to Nike.
Mizuno not high on my list.

Those that pick OTHER, what would other be??

I can't tell you what cleats are the best. ?But being involved with field maintianance, ?cleats will do a tremendous amount of damage to the batters boxes and the pitchng area. ?Talk about holes look out. ?Maintianance cost will sky rocket with time and clay. ?After a saturday triple header there will be a ton of work to get the fields back in shape.

I was one of the ones who voted other. ?:D

We've tried Easton and Nike and others, but strangely---dd prefers s-o-c-c-e-r cleats (says they feel lighter). ?

They don't last very long, since she's a pitcher and wears the toe out. ?But they aren't that expensive---so we just buy a new pair when she needs em (about 2 pair a season. )

Bought my daughter a pair of Tanels two years ago. She is a pitcher and they have been wonderful. Paid extra to have the drag toe dipped so they didn't wear out. Worth every penny! Would have had to replace this year, because of wear, but bought a pair of Ringor's for the metal cleats. So we will see what happens with them.
Easton and Nike she went thru 2 pairs a year with each one. But that was due to the drag.

DD hates Nike, wear out way to easily. DD Liked the older Mizunos, very rigid toe. No for Easton and Under Armour. Still looking for that right cleat. While at sports shop, owner said that there is a new thin blade plastic type cleat out that is a substitute for metal, and that many professional BB players are switching to it. He's working on finding out which manufacturers and etc.. util then; anyone have any more details?

I have seen Nike, Mizuno, Addidas, and Under Armor that have interchangable cleats from metal to Rubber. Has anyone tired these? If you don't like metal you can switch back, plus go from high school ball (metal) to ASA, NSA, etc (rubber). It does seem like you give up a few extra cleats.

Stay away from the Ringer cleats. They're lined with cat hair and the spikes are made out of pencil erasers.

I really like my Adidas. They're comfortable and easy to run in.

I've had them for two seasons so far, and its probably time to get some new ones...

Our team orderd Tanel Cleats last year and will never do that again. Not 1 single liked the cleats most said they hurt their feet and replace over half the cleats after 2 tournaments !
