Rules for sharing facillities?

What are the rules, if any, for high schools having to give equal facility use to both the girls and boys teams? Is it allowed for the baseball teams to have the gym for indoor use several times a week more that the softball teams?

No rules, the softball coaches need to get some nads.

If coaches are not involved (non HS teams), then it is the somebody knows somebody schedule, then you need to find that somebody.

If it is an open gym, hey the girls can put on the leather and work out with the boys, somewhere a stand will have to happen but you are not defining on your situation clearly.

The only other way that I am aware of is, if a softball program becomes dominate every year and puts banners on the walls, league, district, sectional, region wins, they will get the gyms.

Most ADs are very sensitive to this issue and will give equal time to both teams. This may be a question of commitment on the part of the coach and their willingness to spend the time to develop the program. May be "just a job".

As a high school coach at smaller schools it was difficult at first to get time. That was only because the previous coach didn't push. My guess is it's a coach thing. When I coached at a big school - it was equal time. In fact ,we probably were more aggressive than baseball and track and took advantage of any opening we could.
